... the Government of Syria is using chemical weapons ...
As calls are crying louder for an international probe into Israel’s war crimes in Gaza*, Israel admitted Saturday, January 24, using
white phosphorous, a chemical that burns away human flesh to the bone, in shelling the densely-populated strip.
* ... and later, on Lebanon

"Yes, phosphorus was used but not in any
illegal manner," Yigal Palmor, a Foreign Ministry spokesman, told The Times.
http://palestinechronicle.com/israel-admits-white-phosphorous-use-in-gaza/Thousands of people are reported to have been killed and many others injured in a poison gas attack on a Kurdish city in northern Iraq.
Up to 20 aircraft, said to include Iraqi Migs and Mirages, were seen overhead at around 1100 local time in Halabja.
According to experts, the chemicals dropped by the planes may have included mustard gas, the nerve agents sarin, tabun and VX and possibly cyanide.
The attack on Halabja, which is about 150 miles (241km) north-east of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, is the latest in the Iran-Iraq war and follows its occupation by Iranian forces

The use of chemical weaponry is a too common and regrettable fact of life between middle eastern regimes - as long as the perpetrators think they can get away with it
The last known case of the US using chemical weapons on civilians was some 40 years ago
