The taliban was a native pashtun group, who are predominantly from the south. The northern alliance is made up of non-pashtun northern tribes - uzbeks, tajik, turkoman etc.

Those assholes in Washington are getting so retarded the chair od the senate's science committee proposed the National Science Foundation do away with peer review as part of their grants process (NSF gives arounf $7.8 billion a year in research grants).
