Paul Keating, Queen Elizabeth, and Vladimir Putin all die and go to hell. While there, they spy a red phone and ask what the phone is for. The devil tells them it is for calling back to Earth. Putin asks to call Russia and talks for 5 minutes. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is a million dollars, so Putin writes him a check.

Next Queen Elizabeth calls England and talks for 30 minutes. When she is finished the devil informs her that the cost is 6 million dollars, so she writes him a check.

Finally Paul Keating gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is $5.00. When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil why Howard got to call Australia so cheaply.

The devil smiles and replies: "Since GILLARD took over, the country has gone to hell, so it's a local call.

15 million voters are however (or 23million if you listen to valley_boy)

So, all voters are complaining about the Gillard Government?

Really?

Where are you getting that information from?

Undecided

seriously... THAT is what you get from the OP????

Seriously, can you answer the question?

Hmmm... let's pretend that the answer was metaphorical rather than mathematical. Or at least let's assume that that is what most people with half a brain would have worked out. But for you I will restate it...

12million (15million minus the 30% of voters that still support her) are complaining about her.

now are you happy or feeling a little silly? Trust me, the latter is what you should be feeling.

Feeling silly?

For knowing that not all voters are complaining about the Gillard Government?  No, not at all.  Quite the contrary.

Feeling silly?

For knowing that 15 million minus the 30% of voters that still support her is actually 10.5 million and not 12 million?  No, not at all.  Quite the contrary.

oops... that was an epic fail of mental arithmetic. But given that the post was metaphorical and not mathematical, of no consequence particularly when it assumes that all the 30% dont dislike her. I think it is more than likely that a thrid of them are going to vote for her despite disliking her enormously.

i do wonder too, i dont think ive met one and i work in the poorest of the poor suburbs. filling poor suburbs that are bursting at the seams with country shoppers was just political suicide.  kevin rudd started it and now he gets to gloat over the mess he created.  i would say kevvie is the only happy labor voter in oz and even he may vote liberal just to get back at the back stabbers Wink

The media bombardment and spin cycle did not exist back then, but the ALP were very delusional about their prospects.

Rudd was similar to Gough as he captured a nation for a very short period, but Gough was not knifed by his own party, the current ALP is far more dysfunctional then the rabble under Gough. Back then I did not recall anyone openly attacking Gough internally.

Many decades ago the rusted ons were well into the high 30% of the population, even might have been over 40%, similarly unionism was much higher. The ALP use to get well over 40% primary.

Since then the ALP voter base (along with union membership) was dismantling as the working class evolved from manufacturing blue collar jobs to being self employed or into white collar jobs..... they no longer saw the need for unions or the ALP for that matter.

The ALP have just not evolved and if 30% of the population (or less) is all they can rely on they might be out of the game for a decade or two. No doubt the ALP are rapidly reaching their use by date, what is left running the federal party is clearly the bottom of the barrel.

The 30% left might be 20% rusted on and 10% of people who really just hate Abbott.

If the ALP keep to the same path in a decade we might be discussing the same thing about why 25% want to still vote ALP.

Back then Gough was labors only shining light. He literally stood head and shoulders above the rest of them. Gillard however is just a clown.

you really are a wanker. Gillard could get knifed (perhaps literally) but Abbott is untouchable for reasons almost everybody except you understand.
