Shorten may be shifting to Rudd.
Jun 9th, 2013 at 5:19pm

Apparently Shorten is under pressure to change to Rudd. Shorten is essentially the only thing keeping her in, as he commands about 7 votes. One of my sources tells me that the current numbers are about 54-47 in Gillard's favour, so which this space over the coming days. I hope that she stays, though, because she's the Coalition's best asset.

matty, what does it matter? Surely your sources also conclude that regardless, if the Coalition switches to you as their leader, then this election and many more futures ones will be sealed and delivered,  You'll only leave office on your own terms. Because you are a man of the people. So say I. So say your sources. So say the Australian people Smiley

Yep, as Alvine says if Labor pull the switch arroo to Rudd the Libs already have Matty up their sleeve. Labor have no chance against a Liberal led coalition under the guidance of Matty. The dogs of Australia will be celebrating with Pal tonight at the prospect of same sex marriage between humans and dogs, all as a result of a Matty led coalition.

Even with Rudd in the chair - it's too late for Labor

Question
(1) Why would he take the leadership before the election if he knows they will lose
(2) Why would he take on the leadership after the election when the double dissolution is still hanging over their heads

Anyone taking on the leadership now will take a double whammy

Exactly.
Seems the conservatives are nervous about Rudd's Return.
Rudd is highly intelligent and would run rings around tony head punched abbott in an election campaign.

who said he would win

You said he would lose, evidence? Because most polls on the subject put him in a winnable position. So ,Ill ask again, you said he would lose, how do you know?

veteran ABC reporter Barry Cassidy, who has contacts on both sides of parliament, said he believes Labor will change leader before the election. But he didn't say if he thought Rudd would be the one taking over.

My question is, if Rudd stands and loses the election, will he remain opposition leader after the election?

The majority of the population are hanging out for someone they respect to vote for. Rudd seem s to fit the bill for many of them. I believe he could defiantly beat Abbott. Funny thing is, personally I'm not a fan of his, but I recognise he sh it's on Abbott as a leader.

HA! Just as I was writing the above post, Barry Cassidy on ABC news just said Gillard has lost a significant block of support - and that his sources in the caucus say there is only one person considered to take over - and thats Rudd.

Looks like its on now...

Why? Does it matter if he stays opposition leader? Would Abbott stay opposition leader if he loses?
