Yes. That is correct.
He was a witness to the event , although he did not see the actual punch.

THere were 3 witnesses Abbott throwing a punch towards a womans head.
1. an eyewitness who saw the punch being thrown
2. a hearsay witness to the incident that is able to provide evidence of recent complaint - evidence which is admissible evidence, particularly in assault cases, and
3. the woman who actually had the punch thrown at her - who couldn't help but see it.

And this was just one incident in his past. There was also the accusations of groping (leading to an indecent assault charge), which go to explain his current sexist attitudes relating to abortion and the role of women etc. All again confirmed this week as he happily decides that his candidates that make crude sexists jokes are welcome to represent his Party in Parliament

And fan boys like you go out of your way to make up excuses for blokes like this.

Pretty pathetic.

I think what puzzles Gillard in her hypocritical relentless personal attacks (geez calling Hockey fat ????) is that the general public might buy into personalities in a positive way ..... like they did for Rudd, but they will react in a negative way when you go down the Womens Weekly style pointless personal attacks.

This is just rough guess work, about 60% of people really have no or little time for politics, so the Gillard style of politics of hate will only work on a very small % that probably vote ALP anyway...... based on who she is attacking.

What she does not understand is that often the vast majority are on the counter side of her attacks.

Her pathetic abortion attack was odd, I can only assume she stupidly thought no one was filming her (or she did not care) saying men (about 50% of the population) or religious people (the majority of the population) are not entitled to even discuss abortion......... let alone swinging voters who might be attracted to the ALP because of this stance ....... they just don't exist.

She struggles to talk in a positive way about anything .... if it was raining instead of saying the dams would be full because of it ..... she would probably blame Abbott for the rain.

Listened this morning to the Herald Sun editor on the radio comment on this story.

"We ran this story online through the day so gave it a fair bit of coverage. However later in the day, the restaurant owner cleared up the story and stated it was an in-house joke that had not been seen by the Liberal National members for the dinner so it was a bit of something out of nothing really.

Still worth us reporting but obviously in light of the explanation, it warrants nothing more than about the page 9 which is where we have it in the hardcopy editions"

Like I said yesterday. Something out of nothing because the Labor Party are doing so badly in the polls.
