It's disgusting that this correctly labelled, infantile, humour, is the sort of stuff that senior Libs find funny.
We know their cover up story is utter bulltish, and shame on anyone too biased by political prejudice to admit it.
I do believe that smokin joe probably wrote it, but I also believe there were a bunch of overpaid, overfed, and over intoxicated liberal blokes guffawing at it at Brough's dinner function for twenty die hard lib supporters ready to open their wallets for the cause.

They would have felt safe with no outsiders, maybe that they didn't tip well enough, was what brought them undone?

I've been to a Liberal fundraiser Mozza last year.

Our local Managing Director is a member of the Liberal 200 Club and invited a few of us along as a table for the company.

Actually the guys who attend are all pretty good.

As it happens, the person sat alongside me was one of our girls at work. Her dad's in the Liberals in QLD.

Nice food, normal menu, nice booze and some good speeches.

Dunno about you, but it sounds like a good time to me eh?  Smiley

And I would say that whilst I didn't find it roll on the floor laughter stuff, I thought it was mildly amusing and completely harmless.

And I'm not even a Liberal.

There's not a person alive who believes the cover up email.

However, there's also not a single wretched Liberal supporter alive who would ever have the balls to admit it.

Just when you thought they couldn't get any lower ...

Quote:
Labor identities linked to Julia Gillard menu gate row

LABOR powerbroker Bill Ludwig and former state Labor MP Con Sciacca are close associates of Brisbane businessman Joe Richards, who admitted writing the offensive menu at a fundraiser for LNP candidate Mal Brough.

Both sides of politics have distanced themselves from the menu, which made crude references to Prime Minister Julia Gillard's body.

Mr Richards has donated to the LNP but also has close ties with Labor figures in Queensland.

Mr Ludwig refused to comment on the menu and said he did not attend the fundraiser.

Asked about his well-known relationship with Mr Richards, Mr Ludwig said he was friends with "many people".

The menu was leaked the day after Ms Gillard delivered a blistering speech claiming the Coalition would "banish" women from public life and make abortion a "political plaything" if it won the election.

The opposition claims it did not authorise the offensive document and has distributed an email from Mr Richards apologising for the "mock menu".

Did Joe Ludwig or Con  Sciacca order anything on the menu? What did they eat? Things that make you go mmmmmmmmmm.

According to today's Australian, Peter van Onselen received a copy of the menu and ignored it.

A senior writer on a pro Liberal newspaper receives a good story critical of the Libs and does nothing?

What a surprise....

Van Onselen is anti-Abbott
how soon they forget.

BTW the menu is pathetic and well worth ignoring.

He co wrote the Howard book.

Was he anti Abbott before or after he worked for him?

After...  didn't you know?

You people really need to bone up on your Australian politics.

Brough said he did not see it.
Hockey said he did not see it.
Richards says he created it and it was not distributed at the event
The media confronted Brough and said there was a menu, at "his" event... and showed/told him what it said.
He apologised for any offence and condemned it out of hand.
End of story.

not quite

Van Onselen is like the electorate in general - he is anti-Abbott-Gillard.

I guess that's why his anti-Abbott articles run about 10-1 then

Looking at his Australian articles it seems about 30 against Labor and around 2 mildly critical of a Lib.

Have a look if you doubt it.

Don't have to... I've been reading them for years... how many did you go back, a few current ones critical of labor doesn't make them the modal tenure of his articles.

He's been anti Abbott since they parted company.
Anyone with  any sense can assure you of that.
