I do not believe this guy's story, and I doubt many, or any, reasonable people would.

Not even the Liberal sycophants in here believe it.

However, they'll continue to pretend to believe it for as long as it takes.

Regardless of whether it was true or not,, the email from the restaurant owner really took the wind out of the sails of Labor. They have nothing now, just speculation.

That may be true, but it certainly indicates what utter flippin morons they have advising them.
I could have come up with a better lie in five minutes, that would have made them all look like heroes, and EVERYONE would have believed it.

This may be true, Alec, but you must admit that Matty is now the preferred candidate for Mr Brough's seat.

Thoughts?

If it was a lie it was a good one that was effective. Not justifiable by any means, but it has deflected the blame off of them.

NO ONE at the event has said they ever saw it.

No yesterdays line was they couldn't remember it, not they didn't see it.

In fact Brough apoligised for something he now apparently knew nothing about

Quote:
‘Mr Brough says the menu was drawn up by a non-party member who thought it would be “humorous” and “didn’t mean any harm by it,” but is now “deeply apologetic”.’

But you keep cheering for your footy team, just like those Bulldog supporters who blamed the girl at Coffs Habour, just like Im sure it was a set up of Tamou with the high range drink driving etc etc.
Anything can be excused in the name of money or winning Angry

seriously??? that is your argument?  if they had seen it they WOULD have remembered it. The only credible explanation is that they hadn't seen it.

you are better than to be sucked into the vortex of pro-labor idiocy that spends a couple days debating a stupid menu that no one saw while the economy slides down the toilet. it is in fact the ultimate commentary on Labor losing the plot that sexism and a stupid menu occupy their days - neither of which are a problem to anyone at all.

Yes I am & I'm also better than to blindly accept a hastily cobbled together excuse as the gospel truth.
Can I ask the difference between this & Slipper?
Quite a few are pointing out the similarities, private joke between 2 people released to the media.
Where are your posts urging the opposition to get on with the job of holding the government to account instead of focusing on a private vulgar joke?

I'm better, I thought you were too.

The story as told is the only really credible version of the truth. It is not really conceivable that the Libs would do it on their own as it is both out of character and paying to Gillards only perceived strength. That nobody has come forward - nobody -to say that the menu was distributed adds credibility to the story that it was never seen. You might like to believe such things but the facts and motivations of all involved fit the story as told.

Slipper has a long, sordid story of such behaviour of which the text is only one of dozens such incidents. THAT is why it is different.

According to today's Australian, Peter van Onselen received a copy of the menu and ignored it.

A senior writer on a pro Liberal newspaper receives a good story critical of the Libs and does nothing?

What a surprise....     Roll Eyes

Exactly. We'll need a few more like this if we're going to overthrow the vile JuLiar. The woman can't lie straight in bed.

Take the blue tie issue. When was the last time we saw Mr Abbott in a blue tie?

Speedos, yes, but if I'm not mistaken his ties usually have some colour in them.

Thoughts?

Until a few years ago I didn't think using the death of a parent was acceptable for anyone with ANY decency, let alone fit to be used as a joke/motivational talk at a Liberal Party Function by a "Well Respected"(???????) Broadcaster.
But there you go.

It was a liberal fund raiser as pointed out above why would they play into her hands?

Again, PIGS ASS, you might want to wrap it quickly & neatly but reasonable people will habour suspicions as they should.
Anyway don't worry its all a non story now anyway, it doesn't fit the Tony for PM mantra the corporate media want.
Had it been a Labor or Union function we could expect at least 3 weeks & miles of column inches of reporting.

Fully Known & endorsed by the Liberal Party & Tony Abbott himself, right up until the point he put self interest before Abbott's interest.

LOL

No it didn't.

Nobody believes a word of that email: not even the Libs.

Surely you're not that gullible.

Yes, Smithy, but Alan was only pointing out the truth. These fundraisers are an integral part of our democracy. If we didn't have Liberal fundraisers, how would these chaps get to speak out against the vile JuLiar?

PLEASE EXPLAIN.
