I'm sorry to burst your bubble but if it wasn't for the jail term, the inter-party deals , vote preferences scam and bad publicity you'd be way below One Nation. You are progressive but on the ground not endearing to most people. They are beyond big statement policies and into finer policies more relevant to their social standing.

Like Greens playing Libs against Labor and achieving a pension rise so to lift pensioners out of poverty.

Like Greens pushing a pay rise for the unemployed.

Like Greens out to protect agriculture from destruction via destroying fresh water with coal and coal seam gas toxins ... and so pushing up food prices.

When One Nation has more than hate and divide policy, then they may start gaining traction outside their current following.

You know how you get the votes you get- you are the other option. Plus a little help too. Just like the democrats were before you. That's your role. It's looks a little fishy from where I stand. I little constructed perhaps. You can knock One nation all you like but they got all of their votes straight up. No help, no scam, no nothing. They were meant to be the option that you are. You should be thinking why all these average Australian people voted for them . It wasn't all racism either. It was also because people are sick the death of the lot of you. You are all seen as the same.

I have no idea what you are talking about. To me it comes across as jealousy. Perhaps if one nation is still around in twenty years and done the hard yards the Greens have done, then your party may be in a similar position.

Someone should tell him/her that the ALP have long stopped being the workers party and that Union membership is a very small part of the employed in our current society.

I remember reading about the labor party in the past, it was a party for working people, you know the tradesmens, like fitters, plumbers, boilmakers, bricklayers and factory workers, it was started by these very people and it was these people it appealed too.

Now these days the labor party seems to lean on representing minorities and the inner city university educated progressives that the green party have attracted and what green wins laughingly calls inteligient 3 xs

Now the party

Intelligence, not inteligient.

No surprises there. The better educated one is the less likely they are to vote Conservative. It's nice to see this backs it up as fact.

how do you honestly interpret that from that chart? the people with the lowliest and most uneducated professions evidently vote labor.

Dave's right.
What would you know about One Nation?
As a party it was more of a threat to the 2 major patries than any other.
Both the Dems and Greens were insignificant in comparison.
Both the majors were worried and so were the minor parties.
So they all lied and conspired to the extent that the major parties even preferrenced each other before One Nation.
The idiot parties also put One Nation last, even the Dems when in fact they had many policies in common.
After not being able to kill off One Nation completely at the ballot box, they killed it off financially through courts costs.
The Qld SEC still to this day has not returned the $520,000 it took back from One Nation due to Hanson's arrest.
The majors then targeted the Dems...
Gee I wonder what will happen if they ever see the Greens as a threat.  They'll both preference each other first and it'll be bye bye Greens.
Not that I expect you guys to do too well next election anyway.

You obviously fit well into the conservative group if you need to ask that question. Just about every profession that votes GREENS needs a tertiary education. Where as most if not all of the Liberal voters could do the job with no formal qualifications.

Only an idiot would believe that premise Skip.
It is as flawed as the so-called study showing Conservatives have low IQs.

how do you reconcile that then with the fact that labor voters are even stupider? greens are evidently the smartest/best educated of the three (no doubt) but labor is by far the dumbest. the hierarchy is greens - liberals - labor (a distant third).

I don't see too many degrees among the Liberal professions either. Sure the Laborites are not over represented in the degrees either but just because someone is a pen pusher it doesn't make them any smarter than the forkie.
Oh, and you're only the second smartest one here. Wink

Train and Tram Drivers are over 60% more likely to vote Labor than the average voter, while Police are almost 60% more likely to vote Liberal. Intelligence and Policy Analysts are almost three times more likely than the average Aussie to vote for the Greens.
Data from Roy Morgan Research shows which professions are most likely to vote above the norm for each of the major parties this September. View the attached table for a clear view of which jobs are more likely to vote which way.
An electorate of only Train and Tram Drivers, Intelligence and Policy Analysts and Mail Sorters would give a landslide to the ALP (but the party would be left seat-less if only Defence Force personnel, Manufacturers and Financial Advisers got a ballot), while if only Primary School Teachers voted, we’d have a neck-and-neck Federal Election this September.
60% of Crane, Hoist and Lift Operators, 53% of Train and Tram Drivers and 50% of Food and Drink Factory Workers give their first preference vote to the ALP, while over 60% of Defence Force members, Chief Executives, Police, Manufacturers, and Financial Investment Advisers, Managers and Brokers vote Liberal.
Overall, jobs within the larger categories of Labourers, Machinery Operators and Drivers, Technicians and Trades Workers, and Community and Personal Service Workers are more likely than average to vote Labor, while Clerical and Administrative Workers and Managers are more likely to vote Liberal and those classified as Professionals are over 50% more likely to vote Greens.
The professions most skewed toward voting Greens cover a wide range of professions, from the unsurprising Social Professionals (33%) and Environmental Scientists (30%) to Intelligence and Policy Analysts (29%), Judicial and Other Legal Professionals (28%) and Psychologists (27%). Other professions with a more than double-the-average rate of voting Greens include Medical Laboratory Scientists, Librarians, and Software and Applications Programmers.
The professionals most likely to vote Family First are Meat, Poultry and Seafood Process Workers, Delivery Drivers, Waiters and Dental Assistants. Ministers of Religion are the 7th most likely at 7%—just behind Retail Supervisors.
Farmers of all stripes dominate the National Party’s list, although Cabinetmakers, Hotel and Motel Managers and Bus and Coach Drivers make the Top 10.
The proportion of Plasterers and Midwives voting Labor is dead-on average, as is that of Truck Drivers voting Liberal and Storepersons voting Greens.
Michele Levine, CEO, Roy Morgan Research, says:
“It is interesting that while each of Labor’s Top 10 jobs is blue collar—consistent with the party’s traditional base—there is more variety within the Liberal and Greens lists: CEOs and Livestock Farmers are both over 50% more likely to vote Liberal than average, while Policy Analysts, Graphic Designers and Social Workers are all almost three times more likely than average to go Greens.
“Survey Interviewers are 18% more likely to... give no answer when asked for their first preference vote.”

Interesting then that on here the Greens' main supporter left school at 15 and has no significant educational qualifications at all....

Lucky aye ... imagine how lost you would be if an intelligent person was running rings around you, rather than an me.

And it was 16 since at 15 I would not have been able to escape being a ward of the state.

Merely pointing out the irony of the thread that the Greens are so intelligent being started by a guy who found school so hard he had to leave early.

Yet I hold conservative views and am pretty much the best qualified person on this forum.

Then again, that's what happens when you try and take a broad brush and apply it liberally to everyone.
