Pakistan mourns after deadly Quetta blasts
Banned group claims responsibility for blasts targeting university and hospital which killed at least 24 people.
Last Modified: 16 Jun 2013 09:30

Two attacks in Quetta, which saw at least 24 people killed, has sent Pakistan into a state of grief and shock and raised fears of renewed tension in Balochistan's capital city.

National newspapers on Sunday carried headlines decrying the two deadly blasts, the first of which happened on a bus near the campus of the Sardar Bahadur Khan Women's University with a bomb hidden in the vehicle, killing at least 14 female students.

The second blast struck the casualty ward of the Bolan Medical Complex, where the wounded were taken, and a gun-battle continued in the aftermath. At least eight unidentified gunmen were reported to have taken positions in the hospital, and killed at least four security personnel who were attempting to resecure the facility and four nurses, local officials said.

Quetta's Deputy Commissioner, Abdul Mansoor Khan, was also among those killed on Saturday.

The banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, which has links with al-Qaeda, has claimed responsibility for the attacks. Reports said a female suicide bomber carried out the first attack.

"Killing hope and history," The Express Tribune said, "14 girls, deputy commissioner among 25 killed," said Dawn.

"Across the country, there is shock as well as grief," said Al Jazeera's Kamal Hyder, reporting from Islamabad.

Three-day mourning

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the country's interior minister, said the hospital siege and ended with security forces freeing 35 people trapped inside the building and killing four of the attackers. One of the attackers was also arrested.

Zubair Mahmood, the city police chief, said the bomb on the bus exploded after students had boarded and the bus was leaving the university, which is the only school solely for women in the province.

Another police official, Fayyaz Sumbal, added that the bus caught fire after the explosion and many students were critically wounded.

"As casualties were being brought to the hospital, terrorists had taken position inside the hospital building," Khan told reporters. "They opened fire on on administration and police officials who arrived at the hospital. One suicide bomber blew himself up in the hospital."

Pakistani security forces surrounded the hospital and carried out an operation to clear it once the gunmen had taken over.

“Four female nurses were killed in firing,” said Riaz Louise, the President of Balochistan Nursing Federation, announcing a three-day mourning, according to the Dawn newspaper.

Quetta is the capital city of Balochistan province, and regularly witnesses violence on a large scale.

Earlier on Saturday in the town of Ziarat - some 120km from Quetta - a rocket attack by unknown attackers killed a policeman and gutted a historic summer retreat used by Pakistan's founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Since the start of the year, more than 300 people have been killed in attacks by sectarian, ethnic and anti-state groups in Quetta.

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/asia/2013/06/201361510251151772.html

Just to put this into context, an estimated 30 000+ Pakistani civilians have been killed by islamic terrorists since 2001. The figure almost defies belief.

And before the usual suspects jump in with the usual trolling, it needs to be pointed out that the prophet Muhammad made education compulsory for both men and women. And no, this wasn't the mindless quran memorizing we associate with today's madrassas, it was knowledge, science, speaking skills, and above all else, critical thinking.

Unambiguously, what these terrorists are doing has nothing to do with islam, and in no way can be justified in islam. I certainly hope that honest, God fearing muslims stand up and speak out against this sort of crime.

This thread title....
Female students attacked by terrorists in Pakistan

This thread should have been titled....
Female students attacked by nondescript terrorists in Pakistan - and it is absurd to suggest that ISLAM had any influence upon the terrorist cadres.    Honest!            Tongue

We believe you Gandalf.

1,000's would't,        ....but we believe you.         Tongue

The Koran instructs moslems, not to take apostates as friends.

And whenever apostates oppose you [in Allah's way], kill them.

"Why should ye be divided into two parties about the Hypocrites? Allah hath upset them for their (evil) deeds. Would ye guide those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way? For those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way, never shalt thou find the Way.
They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks;-"
Koran 4.88, 89

Who are the 'renegades' ?

Its simple!

ISLAM instructs that those who do not believe, as you believe, are renegades !

Special dispensation from Allah, to kill em, kill em all!

Hypocrites/apostates have no protection in ISLAMIC law.

As far as mainstream ISLAM is concerned, all hypocrites/apostates are dead men / dead women walking.

"....those who reject Allah have no protector."
Koran 47.008
v. 8-11

Q.
WHAT CONSTITUTES "INNOCENCE" IN ISLAM?

A.
For an explanation of how moslems can 'intellectually' [i.e. 'religiously'] justify the slaughters we see daily,
read......

Violence and Context in Islamic Texts
http://www.meforum.org/3537/violence-islamic-texts
Quote:

.......The key question, then, is what constitutes "innocence" in Islam? As it happens, the expression "fitnah is worse than killing" in verse 191 provides the key to finding an answer. Ibn Kathir has this to say:

Since Jihad involves killing and shedding the blood of men, Allah indicated that these men are committing disbelief in Allah, associating with Him (in the worship) and hindering from His path, and this is a much greater evil and more disastrous than killing. Abu Malik commented about what Allah said: "And Al-Fitnah is worse than killing." Meaning what you (disbelievers) are committing is much worse than killing. Abu Al-Aliyah, Mujahid, Said bin Jubayr, Ikrimah, Al-Hasan, Qatadah, Ad-Dahhak and Ar-Rabi bin Anas [Muslim authorities] said that what Allah said: "And Al-Fitnah is worse than killing." [means] "Shirk (polytheism) is worse than killing." [Emphasis added. Parentheses in text. Bracketed parts, the author's.]

......What then does it mean when the Koran says that "fitnah is worse than killing"? According to Ibn Kathir, to disbelieve in Allah is to be guilty of the crime of shirk or, as he puts it, "committing disbelief." Shirk, he says, is fitnah, the crime worse than killing. Just being a non-Muslim -- a Christian, a Jew or a pagan -- is worse than murder.

This is not a peaceful verse. It has been cited, for example, by leading Muslim legal authorities such as the Grand Mufti of Jordan, His Excellency Shaykh Said Hijjawi, in order to justify killing "apostates," people who choose to convert out of Islam. Such a decision threatens Muslims' faith, and must, according to the Grand Mufti, be met with the death penalty, because the shirk, or disbelief, of apostasy is worse than killing.

Then you are clearly mentally deficient.
[psssst every body!, i am beginning to suspect that gandalf is a woman, who is impersonating a man.
Google; islam, women mentally deficient     ]

LETS SEE, HOW ARE ISLAMIC DOCTRINES, RELEVANT TO ISLAMIC 'TERRORIST' VIOLENCE ?

Hmmmmm......

Two attacks in Quetta, which saw at least 24 people killed

-CONNECTS-

ISLAMISTS were responsible for the attacks in Quetta

-CONNECTS-

ISLAMISTS justify their attacks in Quetta based upon their hatred for disbelievers, a hatred that is fostered within them, by the teachings of ISLAM

-CONNECTS-

ISLAM teaches its adherents, that all persons who resist ISLAM's authority over their lives deserve to be killed - and that those who accept ISLAM's authority over their lives will be permitted to live as the slaves of moslems.

gandalf,

The victims, were the victims of a lawlessness, which you refuse to acknowledge any responsibility for.

It is a lawlessness, which you excuse, support, and defend, gandalf.

ISLAM, and its teachings, are that lawlessness.

ISLAM, makes murder 'lawful'.

ISLAM, makes rape 'lawful'.

ISLAM, makes paedophilia 'lawful'.

ISLAM, makes the oppression of other human beings 'lawful'.

ISLAM, makes theft and robbery 'lawful'.

.....on the basis that, the victims, are not moslems, and therefore they are not deserving of lawful protection, because they are 'disbelievers'.

[Yadda said;
'ISLAM makes it lawful for moslems to steal and subsume the property and the lives of all others....']

"Or have they gods that can guard them from Us? They have no power to aid themselves, nor can they be defended from Us.
...See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will win?"
Koran 21:43-44

"And He made you [moslems] heirs to their [non-moslem] land and their dwellings and their property, and (to) a land which you have not yet trodden, and Allah has power over all things."
Koran 33:27iEVIDENCE - from ISLAM's foundation text, the Koran, that what i have said, is true....

Koran 2.98
Koran 47:8-11
Koran 4.74-76

The content of those three Koran verse groups, together, form a 'virtuous circle'.

Each verse group firstly confirms and then reinforces the ISLAMIC 'religious' paradigm, that;
1/    unbelief [in man] is a serious 'religious' crime, and that,
2/    the 'criminals' [i.e. the 'unbelievers'] deserve every punishment they get, and the 'criminals' are outside of the protection of law, and that,
3/    good moslems have an obligation to,    ....'fight in the cause of Allah' , and all good moslems are 'rightly guided' and are justified in their 'crime fighting'.

Those arguments [above] are 'logically' demonstrated...

1/    "...Allah is an enemy to those who reject Faith." [i.e. 'Unbelief' [in man] is a crime.].
Koran 2.98
[ - - The enemy of moslems is identified. All of 'unbelieving' mankind, are the declared enemy of moslems.]

2/    "...those who reject Allah have no protector."
Koran 47:8-11
[ - - Here, it is clearly stated to every good moslem, that moslem enmity, violence, and warfare, against 'those who reject Faith', is morally justified, and 'lawful'. /sarc off]

3/    "...And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of [i.e. for] those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?...Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who reject Faith Fight in the cause of Evil: So fight ye against the friends of Satan:.."
Koran 4.74-76
[ - - Those who reject 'Faith' are ipso facto, 'rightly' deemed, by ISLAM and by Allah, as being innately evil. Therefore those who reject 'Faith', are described as 'oppressors', and are the rightful targets of moslem enmity, violence, and warfare.
...'those who reject Faith' are described [Koran 4.74-76], as 'oppressors' and as, 'the friends of Satan'.
]

Once again, the 'theology' which ISLAM inculcates into the psyche of all moslems, is this;...

1/    'Unbelief' [in man] is a crime.
2/    The 'criminals' have no 'lawful' protection whatsoever.
3/    The crime of 'unbelief' >> must << be punished by good moslems, and the punishment of 'unbelief' is morally justified, because, the 'unbelievers' are in league with evil forces, and they are the oppressors of the people [stated in Koran 4.74-76].

Arab tribes during the time of Mohamed knew the consequences if they broke a peace treaty or contract they and Mohamed had. Both Mohamed and the Arab tribes knew the consequence if each of the team broke the rules.

Arab tribes brought the mess onto themselves cause they broke numerous treaties, tried to back stab Mohamed and attack him even after they signed peace treaties.

The last messenger of God wasn't going to sit there are get slaughtered by the enemies who tried to destroy him.

Again, you find a Modern day muslim incident, and run to find something in islam and try to make a link to it in islam even though it has no connection.

Some verses in the Koran is only for Mohamed and his companions, and is not for modern day muslims to implement.

Unambiguously eh? Big statement.  What do the terrorists say to justify their acts?  Do they declare their acts nothing to do with Islam?  Is that what you are saying and claiming that they say?

Or on the other hand and more realistically, does it have everything to do with Islam, just not the brand and interpretation that you like?
