Yes, it's 5 minutes to midnight and the clock of ruination is ticking.

First Rudd-Labor, then Gillard-Labor have almost ruined a once-great nation.

If voters are stupid enough to re-elect Rudd-Labor, then the ship will indeed sink, there will be 'no' way back, the damage will have been done...the iceberg hit, and the 'end' near.

It'll be 'goodbye first-world Australia'...'hello third-world Australia'.

The Libbos are worried now - desperate.

Abbott is on the ropes.

Brother am I enjoying Rudd - Return of the King, this is hilarious; Skippy is virtually wetting himself with joy. Go on have a good time Labor lefties, this brief glorious interlude before things get serious.

I love the optimism in the air, the hope that something rotten has suddenly had a makeover and is now the next big thing.

But like all gas filled balloons that are set free, they go high enough, then they explode.

That is what is going to happen to this scenario it is nothing but a balloon full of hot air...and baby that bubble will burst. Grin

You’re right, Woof Woof, one million Iranians is definately a concern. Half the population of Sri Lanka would be, what, another 10 million? Where will we fit 11 million people?

I do hope the PM’s office is doing the sums. They’ll need to build at least another 300,000 detention centres to house that lot.

What will we do?

Worry not, there is a 20k limit on asylum seekers.  Or something... Grin Grin Grin

Or so some idiot tried to declare.

That’s a relief. Woof Woof had me worried there for a minute - I was almost going to vote for Mr Abbott, because he’ll stop the boats.

I think I’ll vote Green instead. They have very good animal welfare policies.

Good heavens, Bobbie, did you just say Rudd will stop the boats?

Only Mr Abbott will stop the boats.

Certainly, we'd have still gone into debt with a Coalition government, but I doubt very much Costello would've run up a debt anywhere near the level of Swan. Costello is widely acknowledged here and abroad as a brilliant Treasurer, whereas Swan doesn't even have a degree to his name, let alone any real-world financial experience beyond managing his personal expenses.

Costello would not have tried the radical new policies pursued by the Labor government during the last six years. He would have played it safe. He was risk-adverse.

Armchair_Politician wrote on Jun 30th, 2013 at 4:55pm:
Really? He has a double arts/law degree, which includes studies in economics. Costello also has a much more enviable record as Treasurer - surplus after surplus with a pretty big debt paid off. Swan has nothing except debt approaching $300bn and not a single surplus in his time as Treasurer.

Swan had the task of overseeing spending for radical changes to this country. The Howard Government didn't do anything nearly as ambitious. If Costello was overseeing the same policies, do you think he'd have done a better job? I think he would have done the same thing.

There will be a terrorist attack.

Bang Bang will blow up (hence his name). Rudd will die and all the boats will sink to the bottom of the ocean. No more boat people. Problem solved. Cool
