No mention of Kevin 07 saving this country from the recession which wrecked the global financial system?
Na..I thought not  Grin

Swan wet his pants and spent like a drunken sailor. Rudd's answer was to just throw money at the problem and hope for the best. If not for the excellent work done by Costello as Treasurer in the Howard government, we'd have fallen into recession for sure.

Nice rewriting of history.  However most knowledgeable pundits agree the result is because of the collective actions of Rudd and the previous Howard governments selling of public assets.

If the assetts werent sold the government would have an income to draw on

Costello is widely acknowledged here and abroad as a brilliant Treasurer, whereas Swan doesn't even have a degree to his name,

Can't recall Costello ever being formally recognised as the World's Best Treasurer as Swann truly was, and further let it be known that Costello has NIL formal economic qualifications.

Really? He has a double arts/law degree, which includes studies in economics. Costello also has a much more enviable record as Treasurer - surplus after surplus with a pretty big debt paid off. Swan has nothing except debt approaching $300bn and not a single surplus in his time as Treasurer.

So? We dont have to have a surplus. Do you EVER use your credit card? If not then why do you bother having it?

what happens if half of Sri Lanka rock up, what if we get 1 million Iranians all seeking asylum, what do we do??

Looking at Rudds policy we let them in give them a house give them the dole.

We're screwed

You’re right, Woof Woof, one million Iranians is definately a concern. Half the population of Sri Lanka would be, what, another 10 million? Where will we fit 11 million people?

I do hope the PM’s office is doing the sums. They’ll need to build at least another 300,000 detention centres to house that lot.

What will we do?

Heh funny thing is they would do it before they would build any more public housing
