muso, I think serious thought should be given to publicising who is barred, why and for how long.

Justice must be seen to be done, we should know what behaviour is punished and making the punishment public is a real penalty.

What do others think?

I think you're a pussy.

What next? name the queers, name the people you don't like, name the people you don't agree with, etc...........

If you don't like the responses you get, be careful what you say to people professor. Express your views, but make sure you speak as you would like to be spoken to!

muso so someone abuse another member you bar him for 24 hours then they come back on and keep abusing  the member so you bar him again for 48 hours, then they come back on and carrying on abusing the member again. When do you say enough is enough?

Also it would be good to get a PM when you make a complaint to get a PM back to say that you are looking into the matter.

It can go up to 96 hours or even 2 weeks suspension, but most posters get the message long before that.  I usually send a message of acknowledgement as far as possible, but it's FD's forum and I stick by the rules.

So - where are magpie and sanofi?

Oh and if you stick by the rules then why did you ban me that time when i didnt do anything wrong?

Well im for it not because it publicises ppls crimes but because then the mods would have to justify their arbitrary bannings.

It's not going to happen for reasons given elsewhere. I doubt if FD will change his opinion on that, and I agree with him.

You saw what happened to this thread when Bigol made it known that he was suspended. It goes against the purpose, which is to quietly remind people to stick to the rules without any public embarrassment or retribution.

It's not exactly like a crime. When discussing politics, almost everybody can get hot under the collar. It's easy to let fly an f-bomb or two. A short suspension gives an opportunity to cool down.

To whom and reported by whom.

Maybe I want to apologise in person to the people who reported me for hurting their feelings.
