Rudd up against blatant media bias.

Nevermind that Rudd is trouncing Abbott as preferred PM, the telegraph run with Captain Chaos, off the back of some obvious push polling.

I can't believe my eyes with this heading. Rudd is the media's darling. They are all over him like a rash.

It's quite obvious that the Murdoch press are Abbott fans, but Labor have only got themselves to blame. If you suck up to the ruling media, you have to take it on the chin when they turn against you.

If they get re-elected they should push for a more independent media representation in this country. Australia's commercial media ownership is one of the most concentrated in the world. Getup will be running a campaign on this as part of a social justice reform.

I actually find the media reaction is very mixed this time around, back in 2007 they were all fawning over Rudd, I think many were bored with Howard.

I found it interesting that the left wing media seems to not like Rudd, they don't quite attack him but they don't look too happy about Rudd being back.

The News limited seems to be the only ones attacking Rudd but it all looks desperate.

Given Rudd will soften or bend the ALP policy or as I call it drag the ALP towards the right .... I am more than happy with what has transpired.

Either the country will get a more centrist ALP or a Coalition government both which seem more relevant than what was happening under Gillard.

I think he is getting more air time then Rudd deserves ..... It will b e interesting to see if the polls fall back to the coalition as the experts are suggesting.

What is good is that more than Gillard is being removed, the ALP refused to reform so the polls did it for them.

Rudd has given the ALP a sugar rush, he needs to change the policy which has already started with border control and attacking the destination shoppers.

Waddya talkin' about. Rudd at Springwood in the mountains one day with the media all over him. The next day he's in Newcastle with the media scrum there to witness the unveiling of his new team. You can't get better media coverage than that. Abbott was struggling to get some media space.

The ALP, the progressive party, the party of ideas, the workers' friend, is the only Australian political party to roast four young Australians in roof cavities. SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

Whatever some sections of the media may think &/or say, I would suggest that both Rudd & the Labor party as a whole, have aided & abetted in their own poor standing with the General Public, as have Abbott & the Liberals!

How about you provide me with examples of similar push polling. I'll leave it as an open challenge over the coming months.

He's getting the media coverage you'd expect from a new PM announcing a new Cabinet. If he wasnt getting that attention there would certainly be a prima facie case for media bias. Not that the loaded survey question in the Captain Chaos front page attack isn't evidence enough.

Same poll says the electorate clearly favours Rudd over Abbott. Why wasnt that the attention grabbing headline.

It's got a lot to do with Rudd. For some of them it would have been untenable for them to continue. Just like Gillard they have done the honourable thing and stood down.
