Because the latest attention grabbing headline features Labor, the unions, Beasley, Costa, Roosendaal, tax havens, money laundering et al

Obeid's headlines were deserved. He and far too many of his colleagues, have been an absolute disgrace.

Whatever some sections of the media may think &/or say, I would suggest that both Rudd & the Labor party as a whole, have aided & abetted in their own poor standing with the General Public, as have Abbott & the Liberals!

While there are certain Journo's who struggle to be objective, most media outlets pander to their readers, there is no real political bias ...... it just comes down to relevancy. The ALP wanted to sell their policies that no one was interested in hearing ...... a media outlet is not going to shoot themselves in the foot for the ALP ..... even the ABC was not that interested in the ALP polices and are still not that interested.

51-34 Gillard had that kind of lead at one stage. I would not pay much attention to these early polls, in fact if want to they actually say the ALP needs to do more work to win.

I think you need to look at how the polls travel from here, the ALP has to offer more than a recycled Rudd.

I agree with the media its was expected Rudd would poll better ..... its a bit of a yawn story.

So far has not been under any real pressure yet, its a honeymoon poll.

Its not like we have had an election. Its the same Labor Party we had under Gillard.

Yes.  The same party that has given us one of the lowest debt levels in the developed world
The same party that is rolling out the NBN
The same party that is implementing an NDIS
The same party that is finally addressing education after a decade of neglect
The same party that has kept us out of recession despite the GFC
The same party that has reduced emissions with carbon pricing

As opposed to the other mob whose idea of a policy is -  "stop the boats!!!"

Nevermind that Rudd is trouncing Abbott as preferred PM, the telegraph run with Captain Chaos, off the back of some obvious push polling.

why is that unfair?  it is a title his own party gave him.  ah of course... 'bias' is when the truth hurts.

tough luck

We shouldn't have to put up with such blatant push polling on the front page of a major paper. It destroys their credibility as an objective source of news. Not that News Limited seems to care.

So you want to deny that labor thinks of him as Captain Chaos?  Should we play for you the hours of abusive comments from his own party?  has Rudd done anything since becoming PM other that what he has ever done which is 'stuff'.  moving people around, launching enquiries and keeping any actual decisions at arm's length?  The frustation is that there is no election date probably because he is incapable of making that decision either.

it is a very fair and accurate headline.

The electorates perception is that he will make a better PM than Abbott. What does that say about Abbott.

Can you share with us a similar example of negative push polling used against Abbott. News Limited will be more of a player than a reporter in this election campaign.

Rudd has always had sky-high popularity for reasons few can understand.  Even as PM he was knifed when his popularity was higher than anything Gillard ever reached. That he is more popular than Abbott is neither surprising or particularly relevent since voting intentions (the only thing that matters) is the other direction.  And it is still to be seen if the sugar rush of knifing Gillard will keep his polls at this level or slowly slide back. History is not on his side.

So when the papers reported the assault allegations and the sexism allegations they were doing what exactly?  Your bias is what confuses you.

not a lot, since they are still planning on voting for Abbott.
