Proof that Rudd has not changed
Jul 2nd, 2013 at 7:46am

1. He racked up a phone bill of almost $30,000 in just six months, far more than any other Government minister. How does a back bencher with no portfolio manage to run up a $29,676 phone bill in just six months??? Rudd's phone bill was ten times that of Gillard. Apparently, much of Rudd's phone bill consists of international calls.

2. Kate Lundy was not informed by Rudd that she had lost the Sport portfolio. She found out through Albanese and a media release from Rudd's office. I thought Rudd said he'd be more consultative this time around?

The Libs sure are worried about Kev leading the ALP to victory in the next election.

Thread after thread of pure fear.

The next few months are going to be very interesting.

Not worried, petrified. Armpit and co a pooing their pants, how else do you explain every thread he and maqqa post being about Kevvy? Funny thing is, no one is listening to the conga line propa Ganda now. Its as though the voters have gone from not listening to Gillard to not listening to Abbott, too too funny. It's both funny and delightful.

That look of fear on Tony's face.

Lovin' it   Grin

I'm not fearful of Rudd being back in the job. If anything, the word would be bewildered. He is the architect of many of Labor's current policy failures that have been dragging them down in the polls. Won't take long for the electorate to remember that. I'm sure that Abbott and the Coalition won't let anyone forget!  Wink

armchair, i dont know if rudd needs to change.

now i think he's a little weasel but my 2 daughters love the guy.
and are almost wanting to hand out "how to vote' cards for him.

he's an interesting phenomenom. i cant quite put my finger on it but the rudd 'phenomenom' is going to make this election very close.

I think everyone knows what Rudd is and what Gillard was, seems the electorate is quite happy seeing Rudd do his camouflage make the ALP look more right wing than it is strategy, I have never bought his rubbish neither do I buy he has changed or can change.

How many people over 50 can change their ways ? What makes a complicit character like Rudd more capable of change ?
Also in 3 years ?

If the electorate wants a grub like Rudd then again the ALP has to fail before the electorate wakes up.

If I were fearful of Rudd being back in the job, I'd say so. I will say I'm disappointed he's clawed back so much ground in the polls, as I was looking forward to Abbott having a good chance of controlling both Houses. That said, any win by any margin by Abbott that results in him leading a majority government is good enough for me!  Smiley

What Rudds ministers say about Rudd :-

“The stories that were around of the chaos, of the temperament, of the inability to have decisions made – they are not stories”.
(Tony Burke, 22 February 2012)

Rudd’s new Youth Minister, Kate Ellis, said of him:

“Kevin Rudd is the person who has been talking down the Prime Minister (Gillard) in deeply personal ways for well over a year, during the last election campaign and since then”.
(Kate Ellis, 24 February 2012)

Defence Minister Stephen Smith said:

“If you wanted one sentence why the Cabinet and the Caucus and the party moved away from Kevin, it was because it became increasingly difficult, if not impossible, to work difficult issues through with him”.
(Stephen Smith, 23 February 2012)

And most extraordinarily, the person who Rudd asked to preside over our nation’s critical mining industry, Resources Minister Gary Gray, had this to say only ten days ago:

“He (Rudd) doesn't have the courage and the strength that's required to do this job. What he can do is spread confusion. What he can do is get himself into the media. What he can do is create a lot of torment. What he can't do is govern and what he can't do is lead the Labor Party”.

Remember that fool Rob Dumbshott saying that his decision to go with Labor was based on his belief that Labor would provide a more stable government for the country? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! Oh, how he must be wishing he could un-say that! Short of a coup taking place, this has been the most unstable government since Whitlam got sacked by the GG. Who's been at the very centre, the heart, of it all all this time? That's right - Rudd. He may be called Prime Minister, but he'll never be called a statesman.

I  hear all that but i still think that tony should be very concerned.

my daughters are level headed. geez my cousin is a liberal candidate and my girls helped hand out how to votes for her, but they LOVE kevvie.   i could evict them i suppose but i prefer to study this phenomenom.  and their friends love him too , and this from kids who DESPISED gillard.

he has some rockstar quality.  he has a cockiness and a confidence which is well suited to the sound bite.

the electorate wont get all that cloak and dagger stuff. they just see a  bloke with charisma  and lets face it  tony has zippo.

we are going to have to use the reasoning of lao tzu and sun tzu to beat kevvie.

ultimately, the only way to beat kevvie is to let kevvie beat himself.

is there time for him to trip up.

he is mad if he doesnt call the election soon.

if he does win, my prediction is his government would be SO CHAOTIC  labor would be out for 20 years.  might be a good one for tony to throw?

Agreed with you up until the highlighted section.

No need to go to an early election.

The longer he holds out the more he can wear down Tony.

Abbott won't be able to handle a long campaign.  He'll crack (again).

Rudd's best chance is to string him out until November 30.  Make him sweat.

It's simple: Kevin is into populist politics. He tells people what he thinks they want to hear. His failed border security policy is a fine example of how badly things can go wrong when you utilise populist politics. More than 40,000 people on over 700 boats since scrapping the Pacific Solution and more than 1,000 people have died at sea. That's populist politics. Just because it makes people happy, doesn't make it right.
