Rudd's luxury property portfolio miles from Struggle Street

KEVIN Rudd's multi-million-dollar property portfolio represents a huge wealth divide between the PM and Labor's working family voters in mortgage belts.

Mr Rudd owns luxury homes in Canberra, Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast. In total, they're estimated to be worth more than $10 million. It includes a $1.4 million block in Brisbane's well-heeled Norman Park that he bought two years ago with a plan to build a million-dollar-plus home for visitors.

Thank G*d he doesn't live in Sydney's Western Suburbs otherwise he'd be accused by ALP acolytes of living in a McMansion leading a shallow life and only concerned with interests rates.

Thank you dear Lord.

his wife is a multi millionaire ... are you surprised he owns expensive property?

I'm not surprised. I believe the Rudd's made their fortune prior to him moving into politics and good on them. They've obviously made some good choices and if they're smart enough to make the money, then so what? This isn't news. Turnbull is in the same boat, being financially well-off.

I thought it was due mainly to his wife business acumen .... she's owns  (or did own, not sure which) one of the countries largest recruitment firms

True, but whatever the method they've used to accrue such an impressive property portfolio, good on them. I'm sure some of Kevin's parliamentary salary has gone toward it, but I doubt it's the main source. Kevin and Therese have nothing to be embarrassed about - good on them.

Well done AP Wink

Yea well to use a capitalist analogy Rudd is a success and phoney tony a real plodder,at best. Who would you want in charge of your finances A success or a plodder that battles to get by?

I might take this to class and get my students to correct it as a grammatical and punctuation exercise.

Do it. Then they can learn something the media didn't tell them.

I can see why pointing out grammar and punctuation errors gets you worked up; you have a similar issue yourself.

Gramma is spelt grammar.
An apostrophe is used in the possessive case, and not in the descriptive case. Hence, it is "Nazis" and not "Nazi's".
You also need to use a semi-colon to join clauses together when there is no conjunction. The sentence "This is a political forum not a gramma, punctuation or spelling contest, take your crap elsewhere" needs either a conjunction after "contest" or a semi-colon. It is a similar case with this sentence: "You do know what can be done to internet bullies these days, it might for pay you to find out and I'm sure next time you'll have second thoughts before imposing your self thought superiority". A semi-colon is required after "days", or use a full stop and begin a new sentence with "it".

Naughty. You're still missing the rule of a semi-colon when a conjunction is absent.

I thought "progressives" were meant to be intellectually superior? How can you claim to be superior when you cannot grasp the basics of grammar and punctuation?
