What will the  Abbott austerity program consist of?

Maybe the Libbos on this forum have some inside information

Will we look like Greece as per this picture of riots?

Then there was Spain's anti-austerity protests:

Quote:
Spain erupts with mass austerity protests

Tens of thousands of public workers, trade unionists and others march in 80 cites to condemn latest cuts and tax hikes.

Tony is keeping his cards close to his chest.
He won't tell us about the real cuts he has planned.

What about the Italian anti-austerity protests?

Quote:
Naples, November 17, 2011
Students and the unemployed take part in a protest against austerity cuts on November 17, 2011 in Naples, Italy. Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Naples, and across Italy, to protest against the lack of opportunity for future employment and impending austerity cuts by Italy's new Prime Minister Mario Monti and his new cabinet.

As I have said before, and will say again.  With the danger of an Abbott government, having the Australian Greens holding the balance of power in the senate, is a very wise idea.     Smiley

If you take way the pile of minerals, Australia is no different from Greece. Full of useless overpaid non productive public servants and little in the way of a manufacturing industry Sad

Roll Eyes

Ironically (The PIGGS nation's economic crisis) is EXACTLY what happens when you have runaway 'democratic' socialism and the Govt runs out of other peoples money or drives its most productive citizens away with rampant taxation.

Labor has been sending Australia down this path since 2007.

Vote Labor / Green and Aust too can be an economic basket case like Greece and Spain.... Sad

Actually I'm not.  Political parties of any persuasion are much too collectivist for me.

The LP is just the lesser of 2 weevils.

At a guess though I'd say the Coalition will quite logically try not to spend more than they earn and to limit pork barrelling to a minimum.

This may mean getting rid of lots of dead weight and free loaders out of the public service and maybe introduce a bit of user pays mentality instead of throwing money down bottomless holes.

They will also incentivize business and industry to bring down unemployment and increase both productivity and profitability by shedding the millstones created by the socialists thus increase earnings by cultivating increased tax revenues and reducing the amount it has to pay out in handouts to those allergic to work. But what about our high house prices fueled by trillions in private sector debt ? That should save us Wink

The Liberals were fuelling this debt for years with first home buyers scams Sad
