Long_fool,
you claimed that there had never been such protests before.

You are wrong & I await your apology.

ANTI-AUSTERITY RIOTS you uneducated imbecile!  IT is not austerity to make budget cuts.

It most certainly is, if the cuts are unwarranted.

As Abbott's are.

the definition of 'austerity' is STILL not an 'unwarranted cut'.

it is amazing seeing such illiteracy on offer here

So you think it is responsible to consistently overspend?

Do you do this at home?

There is no doubt that Rudd over spent however  Abbott
risks placing the economy into recession
causing the unemployment to rise to perhaps 2 million people.

The GFC is not over - the whole world went on a borrowing spree
which delayed the inevitable crash -  which can happen one day soon.

Who do you trust to steer us through the next GFC? -

(1) the man who has already passed that test & left us with a AAA
credit rating & a 14% expansion of the economy or

(2) Tony Abbott who's only policy is to slash & burn?

great stuff,  employing public servants is always bad for emplyment. they are paid for by taxes on business.
business can and will take up the slack and employ people in REAL jobs if canberra stop riding their asses.

Really?

So doctors, nurses, paramedics are police are "bad for employment?"

If we don't employ these people who will do these much needed rolls?

Lets cuts admin staff - then complain that services have decreased! (you can't have it both ways!)

Next your going to tell me trickle down economics works and giving tax cuts to the rich will create jobs!   Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

What about pen pusher public servants?

I'd like to see them take a 25% pay cut.

Not in any of my posts, you won't.

Can't say the same for some, however.

doctors and nurses can be wholely privatised. already your seeing state governments moving patients to the private hospitals to get surgery done as it is a cheaper option to reduce waiting lists.  this policy was started by anna bligh in qld btw.

sure you need some cops but talk to any police officer and they'll tell you they spend most of their day filling in forms in triplicate or revenue raising on the roadside.
the police in birmingham england prosecuted more people for offensive remarks on twitter and facebook than they prosecuted for property crimes.  ask the public if they think government run services in law and order are efficient and serving their needs.

The poll says 14 to 5 that Abbott does have a secret austerity program.

Will the protest riots start before Xmas or after?

A good article on CNN about austerity programs:

http://edition.cnn.com/2013/09/09/business/europes-public-health-disaster-how-au...

Quote:
STORY HIGHLIGHTS - summary:

Health experts David Stuckler and Sanjay Basu say that if austerity had been a clinical trial, it would have been stopped.

They have analyzed how austerity affects health and have found it drives up suicide, depression and illness rates.

They say the suffering of Greeks is not inevitable, with history showing stimulus can work better than austerity.

The authors argue the world has forgotten lessons from the past, and this is proving fatal.
