great stuff,  employing public servants is always bad for emplyment. they are paid for by taxes on business.
business can and will take up the slack and employ people in REAL jobs if canberra stop riding their asses.

Really?

So doctors, nurses, paramedics are police are "bad for employment?"

If we don't employ these people who will do these much needed rolls?

Lets cuts admin staff - then complain that services have decreased! (you can't have it both ways!)

Next your going to tell me trickle down economics works and giving tax cuts to the rich will create jobs!   Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

What about pen pusher public servants?

I'd like to see them take a 25% pay cut.

Seriously? Do you know what pen pusher public servants get paid? Not much . . . . .

doctors and nurses can be wholely privatised. already your seeing state governments moving patients to the private hospitals to get surgery done as it is a cheaper option to reduce waiting lists.  this policy was started by anna bligh in qld btw.

sure you need some cops but talk to any police officer and they'll tell you they spend most of their day filling in forms in triplicate or revenue raising on the roadside.
the police in birmingham england prosecuted more people for offensive remarks on twitter and facebook than they prosecuted for property crimes.  ask the public if they think government run services in law and order are efficient and serving their needs.

Nope. what it is doing is creating waiting lists in the private sector.

Actually I have reason to believe that most public servants are getting paid
more than people in private industry.

To be a public servant is to join the gravy train at the expense of the taxpayer.

I am still waiting for the news on the 1000s of public servants to be sacked.

Will it be soon?

given that abbott said he would sack 12000 public servants before the last election, your prediction is hardly Nostradamus-like.

because you are an uneducated barely literate clown it is difficult to explain these things to you. It is not austerity to cut back programs or reduce expenditure. the opposite of increasing spending is not austerity.

and no, abbot nether had or has an austerity plan and nor are the budget changes austerity either.

get a dictionary and read up.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austerity

Quote:
For other uses, see Austerity (disambiguation).
For the current opposition to present-day austerity measures, see Anti-austerity protests.

In economics, austerity describes policies used by governments to reduce budget deficits during adverse economic conditions. These policies may include spending cuts, tax increases, or a mixture of the two.[1][2][3] Austerity policies may be attempts to demonstrate governments' fiscal discipline to their creditors and credit rating agencies by bringing revenues closer to expenditures; they may also be politically or ideologically driven.

This thread was started by me before the last election
when Tony had secret austerity plans.

I revealed them and many laughed at me.

They are not laughing now.

I now want a whole series of grovelling apologies.

The Abbott Government is set to cut everything and inflict austerity on those who can least afford it yet only commit to temporary measures that will affect Politicians and high income earners to con the public into believing this fabricated budget crisis is necessary and sharing the burden.....You where right Bobby and I apologise for thinking Abbott might just keep his word!!!

He had, he still has, and they are.

You're either incredibly dense, or are deliberately denying the truth, one or the other.
