Just in from ABC 24.

This is the first time that people will have no safety net:

Young people will have no support for 6 months if they are unemployed.

What will they do?

Will they resort to crime?

Where's the parents? Why should the state do their work?

The parents may be dead or have no money.

Warning

Make sure you have a proper monitored alarm system installed.

Bolt all your windows closed & have metal bars on them.

Have high quality deadlocks installed.

Be prepared for burglaries & home invasions from desperate young people with no food.

And if they aren't dead and have money, which is the case in most instances? Why should the state become the new 'parent' when the child turns 18?

No they can't, unless they've voluntarily joined the ADF. Anyway, the link is tenuous at best. It doesn't answer the question.

Parliament can pass any law they like.

CMT is on the cards but it costs money.

except that if we are ever dragged into a major war, drafting will be implemented (has to be, our numbers are to low for drafting to not be an option) and those 18yr old will be sent of to die

its not tenuous ... many 18yr olds did die fighting for this country. You want them to put thei rlife on the line when you need them to? you put out when they need you to.

fair is fair.

There won't be a war except in our own backyard -
young desperate hungry people will find ways to get money for food as they will have no support.

So on the minute chance there may be conscription this justifies the state taking over the guardian role formerly done by parents? This is just a brain fart and not a thought out argument.

This thread was started by me before the last election
when Tony had secret austerity plans.

I revealed them and many laughed at me.

They are not laughing now.

I now want a whole series of grovelling apologies.

Yes Sir Bobby you were right.  Now let us hope that Mr Abbott and his budget of evil, does not get past the senate.      Sad

Yes Sir Crook,

If it does pass the senate we could end up like Greece:
