Maybe the board could have an internal betting ring, where the stakes are like those of the recent Rudd v Gillard contest, the loser leaves the boards.

Will be interested to see if any rusted on left or rights are prepared to take one anothers challanges.

Me, Im hoping for another hung parliment.

because this has been such a stellar success????  government by bribery.  Leadership fights from day one?

pass.

Because it passed more bills than any other government in history in the worst economic times the world has seen since the great depression.

Howard didnt pass anywhere near as many bills in a term even when he had a majority in both houses.

Do you have a link to those stats Verge?

I went to the APH site and got the following stats;

43rd Parlament (The unworkable shamble) - 472
42nd (ALP) - 409
41st (Howard with both houses) - 549
40th (Howard) - 427
39th (Howard, including GST which was a fair few bills) - 564

Interesting how an unworkable shamble produced more than one of howards great eras.  I was obviously wrong about when howard controlled both houses.

so in retrospect, Howard had the two BIGGEST numbers and Rudd had one of the smallest while Gillard was at best, average.

hmmm....  not quite the message you were putting out.

A hung parliament is a weak parliament -
that's not good at all.

Why is it weak?  I think its actually the other way round, the strongest stand up and fight for what they believe in.

Depends on if you value the supremacy of the strongest or the supremacy of the voters will..  Given that the latter was not for a gillard govt at all, the rest of the argument is bogus.

The voters didnt vote for either party so its null and void.

When it comes to the two independents I know you are going to mention, their electorate voted them in, not the LNP.

Abbott doesnt get to be PM because Oakeshott and Windsors seats second preference was the LNP.

The odds have come in for an ALP victory. At one time you could get 12/1 about an ALP victory. One thing's for sure and that is that the Qantas departure lounge will still be full of useless Australian politicians going overseas on their fact-finding-missions. When will Europe and North America run out of facts?

What buch of sponging turds our pollies are.

he would be if the two cowardly bozos who are running away gave more than lip service to representing their electorates rather than taking the opportunity for a little personal vengeance.

Hi Longy,
are you going to take a sports bet?

The Libbos will give you 1.22 to 1

Labor 4 to 1.

The odds haven't changed.
Labor looks like a worthwhile bet.
4 to 1 even though they are winning in the polls.

How much should I bet on Labor?

I should have bet when it was 4 to 1.

I should have put my house on it.

See the odds of the coalition NOT having a senate majority - $1.03

Shortest odds for Greens winning a lower house seat is $1.40 at zero seats, $2.50 at one seat.

It was a hung parliament no matter who was made PM, so your claim is bogus mate.

I find it amusing you are still calling it a hung parliament when is was a minority government, one that could have easily been a coalition one if it were for Tony and his willingness to sell his own arse to get power in what can only be described as the worst negoiation skills in history.

Yes Nail,
poor Longy will have to increase his dose of Prozac if Rudd wins.
