Ten myths around asylum seekers arriving on boats in Australian waters

I have no idea what this 'myth' reply is trying to dispel, but it ain't the myth they proclaim or am I afflicted with some sort of  comprehension issue. Either way it just makes stuff up and then 'dispels the stuff they make up. Pretty puerile stuff, but it is from a murdoch news feed

Myth 7: People from war torn countries cause problems

REALITY: According to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, the number of settlers - people entitled to permanent residence, including people arriving in Australia on humanitarian programs - between July 2010 and June 2011 came from more than 200 countries and totalled 127,460.

Most were born in one of the following four countries:

• New Zealand (20.2 per cent)

• China (11.5 per cent)

• United Kingdom (8.6 per cent)

• India (8.3 per cent)

You are starting to see Indonesia's true colours. The last load of refugees were saved 40 nautical miles off Java. That has to be Indonesian waters. Do we have some dumb do-gooder running the navy now. This whole thing is just a joke.

It sure is a joke...a big, huge joke.

Indonesian vessel, Indonesian flag, Indonesian crew, in Indonesian waters.

Allegedly the paid lots of money to people smugglers passengers on board threatened to harm themselves if they were returned to Indonesia and not taken to Australia.
So our Navy took them to Christmas Island, a long way away.

Looks like Kev's newest best friend Indonesian President SBY is just carrying on as normal as regards people-smuggling. Smiley
Another boat arrived today.

Yes, we're the biggest suckers in the world!

Abdul Nacer Benbrika prior to being gaoled for planning with his jihadi mates to set off bombs at the MCG during the AFL Grand Final, was unemployed since arriving in the country nineteen years ago.
All he knew to do was make seven or so babies and rake in the taxpayer dollars.

Ten myths around asylum seekers arriving on boats in Australian waters

DO you believe that thousands of illegal boat people are swamping our shores in unprecedented numbers and threatening Australian jobs and the economy?
You wouldn't be the only person to do so - and you'll be hearing more about it as politicians jockey for your vote ahead of the federal election.
Asylum seekers arriving on boats in Australian waters is likely to be one of the top issues

Not as funny though as when Labor is thrown out on it's arse at the next election.

What a legend, I bet theres a statue of him back in the middle east somewhere and the people smugglers use a picture of it on their travel brochures right next to a picture of Kevin Rudd.

There needs to be a regional solution to this problem instead of Mr Abbotts usual one liners and slogans.

What 'regional solution' do you have in mind?

Yudhoyono got everything he wanted from Rudd;

"I salute you Mr President" said Rudd...saw it on tv.

Yes, Rudd's usual diplomacy..."Yes sir, yes sir, 3 bags full sir".

No mention of Schapelle Corby in the after talks press conference.
Rudd was supposed to be going to have her on his meetings agenda.
No mention of Chan and Sukumaran who are on death row either.

Nice work Kev...what did you get...nothing much.

When asked how he would respond if asylum seekers threatened to sink their vessels or threw their children overboard, Mr Abbott replied that Australians needed to place more faith in the Navy's personnel.

You can guarantee that's what these "Economic Migrants" (Bob Carr) will do.

Solution: Sail away and leave them to pick their children out of the water.

If they sink their boat?

Solution: Let them eat cake.

No, wait a minute.

Pick them all up ... put them into a shipping container (already on the navy boats for just such a contingency) ... and fly the container to Indonesia using a caribou helicopter.

Settle the shipping container on Indonesian soil, and then fly the helicopter back to the navy boat.

...

I'm not sure what's worse ... either you know how stupid that comment is, and post it anyway ... or you are too stupid to know how stupid that comment is.

Either way you're an idiot.

But then again, maybe the Border Patrol boats can take them to Christmas Island, and when there's enough of them to fill an Airbus A380 they can be transferred to Darwin Airport for a flight back to the Middle East?

What do you think, John? Does this idea have wings?

You know what the Sicilian Italians have been doing with the boatloads of Africans coming their way, don't you?

Sink their boats and leave them to drown. A bit harsh, but it doesn't make US look too bad, does it?

Benbrika was born in Algeria: various sources give his age as 45 or 46 as of November 2005. He was trained as an aircraft engineer. He arrived in Australia in May 1989 on a one-month visitor's permit, on which he twice gained extensions, and settled in the northern suburbs of Melbourne....

I'm shocked....
No boat involved.
