I watched the show as I'm always interested to hear if they have actually finally found real evidence of man made climate change, unfortunately the show was just another alarmist load of crap without basis, just a religious sermon with lots of the usual fire and brimstone, hopefully they'll find some real evidence soon, trying to sell unpleasant weather as something thats only been happening for the last thirty of forty years is really quite a ludicrous position to take.  Grin

of course it can't be true because you have got shares in a coal company and that means less printed money for you in the future.

why didn't i see that connection before Wink

What about geothermal power?

Did you know that 32 km under our feet, the earth is molten at over 1000 degrees?

It could be a source of endless power.

Geo thermal is limited at the source provider Bobby.

New Zealand and Iceland for example are easily able to generate geo-thermal energy sourcing because of their location and geographical make-up.

Hi Andrei,
It's such a pity that all that energy is only 32km away yet we can't tap into it.

I think the deepest hole ever drilled is about 10km deep.

In places like NZ the molten rock is much closer to the surface of the earth.

For the climate change skeptics who have trouble understanding the relationship between extreme weather events and human contributions to planet warming should watch this episode of Catalyst:-

http://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/stories/3796205.htm

Quote:
Heat waves that kill tens of thousands. Apocalyptic floods. Blizzards in the Middle East. How is it that a slightly warmer atmosphere can create weather that swings from one extreme to the next? From lazy jet streams to baking soils, in this report we explain the mechanisms behind some of the most catastrophic events of the decade....

Where's the bit about "human contributions"?

When it comes to extreme weather, the connection is pretty clear. The warmer the world, the wilder it gets. And, with the speed that emissions still enter the atmosphere, we're right on track for an unrecognisable future.

Seriously?  That's all you've got?

Please try harder next time.

the focus of the report was to explain the correlation between planet warming and extreme weather events something which is also denied by the f.ckwits on this forum Sad

No "word games": just facts.

The story is not about "human contributions to planet warming".

Stick to the facts, and you might be taken more seriously in the future.

Obviously the story was inferring that man is heating the planet, don't know why they just didn't come out and say it, maybe they've been told they are not allowed to make stuff up on their science shows anymore.
They also inferred that bad weather is a recent phenomenon only happeneing over the last few decades and not the millions of years that real science shows.

Actually, the answer you gave me said nothing about humans.  " ... with the speed that emissions still enter the atmosphere ..."

"For the climate change skeptics who have trouble understanding the relationship between extreme weather events and human contributions to planet warming should watch this episode of Catalyst:-"

The episode wasn't about "the relationship between extreme weather events and human contributions to planet warming".  It was about "the relationship between extreme weather events and planet warming".

they didn't come out and say that because people like you have a hard time even understanding the correlation between heating of the planet and extreme weather events.

You are aware that we had the exact same weather events 100 years ago under cooler conditions aren't you?, or are you one of those global warming kooks that believe weather only began in 1980  Grin
