What about that Tim Whatshisname? The guy who told us our dams would never fill again, we would be living in Death Valley etc etc.
True to form, ABC Gardening gave a sermon about three years ago on the horror of anybody growing such things as flowers or having a cottage garden.
No No, they said, everybody has to have pebbles, paving and  grasses. It's in the interest of our environment.
I wonder did anybody ever suggest to them that putting that sort of environment around a house would raise the ambient temperature by about 5 degrees with consequent increased demand on that dastardly carbon-producing airconditioning.

But wait! The latest issue of the ABC Gardening magazine has just told everybody that flower gardens are back in fashion. Go forth and flower they say!
What a mob of ratbags.
