Labor's 1st hypocritical ad for 2013 election

Labor's first 2013 election campaign advertisement is set to go to air starring Kevin Rudd.

The prime minister says he believes Australians are sick and tired of negative politics.

"I believe people want all of us to raise the standard," Mr Rudd says at the start of his 30 second message on Sunday about things he cares about.

"What I care about is whether your kids are getting better schools, whether people in the city and country have the same access to fast broadband," he says in the ad.

"Whether your local hospital has a decent emergency department, whether you have a strong economy and job security."

And for both sides of politics to have a positive plans for Australia's future, he says.

Opposition leader Tony Abbott has also been talking up "positive plans for Australia".

However the coalition came under fire last week over a Liberal party television ad on YouTube that showed new cabinet minister Julie Collins stumbling over words at a media conference.

Ms Collins said the media conference took place more than three years ago and accused the Liberals of editing the tape to make her performance look worse.

Stuttering groups questioned the use of the ad but shadow treasurer Joe Hockey defended it, saying Ms Collins "doesn't have a stutter, she just doesn't know what she's talking about".

But saying that Indonesia will invade Australia based on turn back the boat policies is really really positive?

Turn back the boats is a policy that Rudd supports anyway

From the man who has spent the last 3 years spreading negative impacts on the Labor Party?

Kevin has a bit too much form for playing the white knight.

Personally, I have nothing against negative politics. Governments should be held to account in my opinion.

This time around - Rudd's not getting away with it

He's the hunted now

I remember in 2007 no one really checked what he said

In 2013 - every word he makes is checked and triple checked

For example
He condemns Abbott for turning back the boat and I've found quotes of him saying he fully supports turning back the boats

He never said that.

Keep trying Maqqa.  You'll get something right one day.

Is that the same as "saying"?

No.

Another lie from Maqqa.

Carry on.

You do yourself no favours by resorting to semantics to excuse ineptness.

Buy yourself a dictionary: this isn't semantics.

This is facts.

Maqqa said "But saying that Indonesia will invade Australia based on turn back the boat policies is really really positive?"

Another lie from Maqqa.

No semantics:  a fact.

Just playing the same word game that Rudd is doing

The same word game where Rudd supports turning back boats

If you had watched Bolt Report today (7/7/13) you would have seen a clip of Lemon O'Rudd saying those words that he did support turning the boats back. The man is not all that good at remembering things!
