Tis a good thing.  I reckon the political parties and Labor in particular scored an own goal here.

The people got sick of the spin and the nodding heads and the on-message ministers.

Now, burned by spin and with more and more info easily available they rely less on what pollies tell them.

It doesn't MATTER

MUCH was learnt from Tony Nutt's brilliant campaign that saw the highly incompetent
Baillieu LibNats
elected to government in Victoria, 2010

The brilliance - although deceitful aspect - of the campaign was to promise
"all things to all people"
( ... think the pledge to Andrei, to cut back on those "revenue raising" hidden speed cameras - which they then severely increased in both number and penalty value)

Getting into GOVERNMENT is the priority

Policy change, broken promises and pledges can be explained away at a later date - generally blaming the previous government for their own failures ( ... to this day)

If the electorate fails is too stupid to see this - they fully deserve the government they get

This time around - Rudd's not getting away with it

He's the hunted now

I remember in 2007 no one really checked what he said

In 2013 - every word he makes is checked and triple checked

For example
He condemns Abbott for turning back the boat and I've found quotes of him saying he fully supports turning back the boats

If you had watched Bolt Report today (7/7/13) you would have seen a clip of Lemon O'Rudd saying those words that he did support turning the boats back. The man is not all that good at remembering things!

a bit like that clip of Abbott claiming a carbon tax was the best way to cut carbon emissions.

Face it we are in for lots of lies...  that is the Rudd way and it is the ALP way.

yesterday he claimed that Disability Care was brought about by his 20/20 summit...  yet it was an idea that had been going long before that.

No he will lie and make claims like he did when Labor were in opposition about Australians funding the Iraqis against Australian forces...  he is a liar and a disgrace.

the problem with you Gumpy is that you start about a dozen threads a day, and none of them are remotely based on facts ....  but you go for it, you obviously believe in quantity over quality

Ur correct about the own goal - the thing is....

He's using the 2007 tactics....if you get caught - admit wrong and people will forgive you.

In 2013 - people are not that forgiving

Not only that - in 2007 the LIBs allowed him too much momentum before they shot him down

In 2013 - every comment he makes is shot down before it gathers momentum

Rudd is finding it difficult to gather momentum

Remember he went to China and campaign from there in 2007?

Last week he went to Indonesia to campaign - didn't work!!

Labor's first 2013 election campaign advertisement is set to go to air starring Kevin Rudd.

The prime minister says he believes Australians are sick and tired of negative politics.

"I believe people want all of us to raise the standard," Mr Rudd says at the start of his 30 second message on Sunday about things he cares about.

"What I care about is whether your kids are getting better schools, whether people in the city and country have the same access to fast broadband," he says in the ad.

"Whether your local hospital has a decent emergency department, whether you have a strong economy and job security."

And for both sides of politics to have a positive plans for Australia's future, he says.

Opposition leader Tony Abbott has also been talking up "positive plans for Australia".

However the coalition came under fire last week over a Liberal party television ad on YouTube that showed new cabinet minister Julie Collins stumbling over words at a media conference.

Ms Collins said the media conference took place more than three years ago and accused the Liberals of editing the tape to make her performance look worse.

Stuttering groups questioned the use of the ad but shadow treasurer Joe Hockey defended it, saying Ms Collins "doesn't have a stutter, she just doesn't know what she's talking about".

What is hypocritical about that?

Then you have Buzz with his silly posts who crawled from under his rock or out of his butter-box as soon as KRUDD took the proverbial reins. Are queers misogynistic because we didn't hear from him when Juliar was "in command".......strange most male gays are bloody hairdressers and they have to be female friendly.
