fck off smartphones
Jul 15th, 2013 at 10:50pm

smartphones are smacking sh1t im saying it right here

blight on humanity

-awful sh1tty blurry grainy low res photos with poo colour repoduction full of grainy photographic noise that look like ass flooding the world like an uncontrollable cancer

-sh1t flash games that decimated good handheld gaming

-ushering in a golden age of attention whores

-promoting a new level of obnoxious passive aggressive behavior

-facilitating the practice of idiots documenting every trivial uninteresting horrid aspect of their lives for no reason

-another way governments can spy on everybody

-encouraging retards who cant just sit and talk to people but are fiddling with their phones (bugger you)

-killing good chat messengers and online IM in general bc people are choosing to use smartphones over their computers now and theyre impossible to type with

-wasting electricity and petroleum

what we should do with smart phones

I agree with most of this, except the 'photos' comment.

The iphones have crap cameras, but the Samsung and HTC take excellent pics.

If you want to use a computer - use a proper fast desktop
with keyboard & mouse.

If you want to take a photo use a proper DSLR camera.

I have a 14 year old Nokia phone & it still works perfectly.
I had to replace the battery 4 times since then & clean
under the keyboard twice.

Yes, when it comes to mobile phones nothing beats the old Nokias.

I still keep mine as a spare.

Yes good phones with less drop out than their higher frequency replacements available now.

Also - security.
I think some phones broadcast wifi to shopping centers to send you adverts & invade your privacy?

Hi Spot,
I heard that some people didn't know to turn their wifi off &
got bombarded with adverts -
that means their mobile phone gave away their phone number to advertisers without their permission.

This could mean that they were signed up for rip off schemes
for mobile premium content without their permission unless they opted out.
If they didn't bother to reply to an opt out they would be hit with monster bills
for rubbish they never asked for.

LOVE smartphones.

Decreased the amount of heavy stuff you have to cart everywhere and making life so much more convenient.

My phone is ;

My whole music collection.

My camera.

My calculator.

My library.

My computer.

My clock and alarm.

My news source.

My language translator.

My baby pacifier.

My compass.

My recipe storer.

My GPS.

And many many many more things in one tiny package.

I find I am reading more books than I used to.

I'm keeping in more contact with my friends.

I've reconnected with friends from my past.

I'm sharing videos and photos of my baby with his grandparents in another country , instantly.

Smartphones, amazing things.

Ten years ago my phone made phonecalls and sent SMS.

Cant wait to see what mindblowing things await us in ten years from now.

Smartphones are great. I use a Samsung Galaxy on 4G, but very rarely use it to browse the net. I don't have a problem typing on it, and its useful for picking up my email when I'm away from home.  I also use g-strings (It's just a tuner app), TripCase for keeping track of my flights, Run Double  for keeping records of my running. It also tells me my pace every 500 metres, tells me how far I have run and plays music of the right pace, I use Skype. It's useful when overseas. If you have a WiFi connection, you can dial regular phones at a fraction of the cost. I have a navigator on there, which comes in handy on occasion, and I use voice command when driving. The photos come out pretty well. I have a better camera, but sometimes the phone is handier. Language translator is amazing - you just speak the phrase in English or whatever and get the equivalent phrase in the language of your choice. I tried it a couple of times, but never had the need to use it.

I never use Social Media.

What's your problem, Mr Denton?

Not a chance

You could not give me a mobile phone.  Several have tried.  They sit in the drawer to remind those people to not make that mistake again

But seems you're all happy to be slaves

Every day, pass them in the street.  So little confidence left now, so unused to normal behaviours that they pretend to be checking their little dummy-substitute until the other humans are safely past

Gotta have their little dummy-substitutes

As if they weren't successfully weaned

Nothing more pathetic than Kewl Guy or Kewl Jane, made-up to the nines, flashing their brand-name t-shirt tags, stumbling along in their stupid kewl shoes ... and the minute they get the attention for which they've craved --- they CAVE, lol.  And pretend to be studying their security-blanket phone for message from all their non-existent friends

I hate phones of any description.  Only answer the house phone when absolutely necessary -- meaning when it suits MY needs

So good to be free and individualistic

Yep
