I really wish people would stop using the term, 'Government assistance' when it is clearly 'Tax Payer assistance'.

WE NEED LAWS THAT MAKE THESE PEOPLE THAT MAKE THESE PROMISES EXPLAIN THAT..

EVEN IF THEY CLAIM THE MINING TAX WILL PAY FOR IT.. IN THE END WE WILL.

isnt the farm being taken over by the Chinese.??? oh they will be pleased.

How is direct inaction funded?

greeny the world is not going to end tomorrow... BELIEVE ME it wont so stop PANICKING..

as I have said many times.. the way everything in the world is changing and at the rate its changing..  it wont be long before we have found the answer to all these problems you come up with..havent you noticed everything is changing almost daily..

would you really like to be dependent on a life saving machine...only to have it fail when the sun didnt shine?? or the wind didnt blow for days..or even weeks..

come on relax... it wont happen over night but it will happen..be positive for a change.. you are so negative.

So on one hand you agree with adaptation and on the other oppose it.

Greens pledge to help farmers save energy

THE Australian Greens have strengthened their grab for the rural vote at this year's federal election, pledging $100 million in grants for farmers to save electricity and install solar and wind power.

Greens leader Christine Milne will release the Greens' new farm energy policy in a speech to the NSW Farmers annual conference in Sydney today, building on her claim that the Greens are the political party most in tune with the interests of farmers and regional Australia.

Only the greens would think that the major energy cost to farming is running the beer fridge.  Grin

Here is a hint morons, tractors and farm machinery don't run on electricity and consumes vast amount of expensive energy in the form of a liquid.

Can you guess what it is?

So what are tractors and farm machinery used to produce.

What happens if this requires refrigeration ... wait for the ice wagon?

Found one, dairy, the greens are going to save the dairy industry by spending $100 mil on solar panels for their milk vats. I wish I had clappy hands emoticon.

Another brilliant plan by the parlimentry retards. Everyone give them a resounding round of applause for being just brilliant.  Grin

Then the greens should deal with the highest energy cost for ALL farmers and not just a minor one fore a very few. Or are they so used to ONLY helping the smallest amount of people possible that they couldn't possibley consider solutions to the major issues.

Look it's just another stupid greens policy, which once again has not been intellegently thought through. No need to try and justfy this policy disaster.

Sorted

Greens plan to lower power bills by $250

HOUSEHOLD electricity costs could drop by up to $250 a year under a Greens plan to establish a new independent body to drive down energy use during peak periods.

This saving flows through the economy, benefiting everyone.

And how exactly does 'maybe' lowering household electricity costs with a greens magic marker help the energy costs of farmers. I can't see the corelation between electricity costs and deisel costs, they are not even the same energy state.

Granted I only did high school economics so I might not be able to see the magic working here.

You asked about the higher energy costs for all farmer ... do farmers live in houses and use electricity?

I hope to god you don't believe that farmers live in houses in the city and commute to ther jobs on the farm, but it would explain that post.

Saving $250 a year in housing energy cost isn't going to help farms with a operational energy costs in the tens of thousands or do the greens believe that every little thing makes a difference, no matter how pathetic?

You need to give up while you're still behind and people are only just laughing at you and your greens party.  Grin

Good point

Perhaps Tony and co should start telling everyone that their "Direct Action" is actually "Tax Payer Funded Direct Action"

ie  a GREAT BIG CARBON TAX
