Maqqa, interesting that your travel alert bears some comparison to the one current about Bali, only missing the terrorist attacks. So its ok for them to get towed back to where all of the above is happening including terrorist attacks but not to a place where the likelihood of a terrosit attack is low. Youre on a loser here. This was a masterstroke by Rudd and he very well may have permanently solved the boat problem. The very last thing any of these economic migrants want is to live next door to or in a country full of illiterate tribal  blacks.

Bali is within Indonesia but it is not the port to which the departed from

The fact that they ARE already in Indonesia - they are responsible for the costs and choices they make

Rudd will cart them off to PNG ie he's now inherited the responsibility of these warnings

So will the Libs coz they reckon the new policy is great..are you a reborn Greenie Maqqa  Grin

It's about sticking close so Rudd takes the political hit from the bleeding hearts and if the boats stops then Abbott can do a Swannie when he claimed credit for the Greatest Treasurer

Indonesia is Indonesia, travel warning relevant to all of Indonesia. Anyway, prediction, very few potential asylum seekers will take Rudds humanitarian option to resettle in PNG. If any. He has cut off the people smugglers business plan. This is why I will be voting ALP, Rudd is an intellectual giant compared to Abbott and the rest of the Libs.

So you are prepared to give a good predict to Rudd but not to Abbott

Your intellectual giant is a runt compared to Abbott

Right, so thats why Abbott has come up with an election winning solution to stop the boats.  Roll Eyes

Where did you stay, Skip, the Port Moresby Hilton?

Interesting point about ethnic disturbances. Just imagine how much more fun it'll be when you add Sri Lankans, Burmese and Iraqis into the mix.

This is the craziest "solution" I have ever heard.

Given the problem under resolution is Achmed the People Smuggler causing the deaths of people, exactly what is 'crazy' about this solution?  Do you reckon a desperate refugee is gonna hand over thousands of real money to Achmed for a quiet, leisurely Indian Ocean cruise from Indonesia to idyllic equatorially tropical  Manus Paradise?

The PNG 'solution' will unravel in a few weeks or months. Rudd is betting that it will unravel after he is re-elected.

If he is re-elected, he will be dumped again. But I don't think he will be re-elected. There are a lot of dumb fvcks in this country, as in every other, but it is unlikely that the majority are dumb fvcks (except for the dumb bugger majority in 2007).

Will history repeat itself? Rudd is now campaigning as the the de facto opposition leader against the Gillard government. His bounce is due to the fact that he is not Gillard. He won in 2007 because he was not Howard. He is good at undermining and self-[positioning.

He can't govern, never has been able to. His record in government is worse than Gillard's. But now all the usual sycophants are svking each other's d!x and can barely contain themselves: 'Rudd is going to send boat people to a third-world hell hole even worse than the third world hell holes they hail from. Brilliant!!

But it won't work. Wait til the first 12 year old asylum seeker is gang raped or murdered in PNG and the whole stupid scheme will collapse overnight.

The solution has always been around

The solution have seen 2 sitting ALP-PM dumped from the top job

The solution is not the only determinant for winning an election

So you are inaccurate with your comments
