Mr Hockey also alleged people sent to PNG by Labor could end up on Centrelink and MediCare "for the rest of their lives" and that the advertising blitz to promote its deal before an election was "outrageous".

"Mr Rudd said back in 2007 that government advertising just before an election is a 'cancer' and he wanted to stop it," he told Network Ten on Sunday.

"Well, the cancer is alive and well under Kevin Rudd."

I wonder if they'd get paid in AUS$ or PNG sea shells or whatever they use? You could live pretty well on a aussie dole payout in PNG. I doubt medicare would help them much. Probably a better than usual witch doctor.

If you just rocked up to PNG with no land , no house, no tribe, no job then what are you going to live on. I doubt they have much in the way os support systems for the needy in PNG. Of course Australia is going to have to support these resettled refugges.

Nobody is saying there will be no support BUT that doesn't give Macca a license to lie in the thread topic.

Maybe Macca's first language is not English so that could be the reason for so many piss poor thread titles.

Pathetic, just pathetic. Another botched Labor policy. If these people are sent back they’ll get Medicare and Centrelink benefits for the rest of their llves.

SHAME LABOR SHAME.

The cancer is worse under Rudd.

I just hope Mr Abbott gets in and puts a stop to this.
