Rudd is drawing out the election time just like Keating.
Maybe Rudd wants to do Abbott slowly?

so your figures must be true then ... why didn't you say so in the first place. (by the way, that is sarcasm, in case you are unable to figure it out on your own)

It's not funny.
I know of over 18 people who have lost their jobs in the last 3 months.
The same problem in every place:
the phones stopped ringing -
no one wants to buy anything -
all Govt. contracts stopped as well.

I'm sure you do know them. But people find and lose jobs all the time.

Job losses in one area or one industry are not indicative of the whole bloody economy.

I have a bad feeling about the economy.
We seem to be ignoring it & concentrating on boat people -
which is not the real issue.

As the old saying goes:

Its a very odd argument ...... we f....d up the economy but not as bad as other nations have f....d up theirs and not as much as we could of f....d up it all up ????

I doubt anyone is buying other than the rusted ons and Rudd himself, watch Rudd talk economics is like watching a 2 year old try to ride a bike for the first time.

Think so, do you?

Had a listen to Tony or Joe on the economy?

... and
Tony runs a MILE

Rudd ups the ante on Abbott challenge

Matt Cram
24 July, 2013

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has challenged Tony Abbott to a debate on asylum seeker policy in the 3AW studios.

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has challenged Tony Abbott to a debate on asylum seeker policy in the 3AW studios.

In his first interview with a metropolitan radio station, Mr Rudd told Neil Mitchell he's prepared to stay in Melbourne an extra 24 hours to debate the Opposition Leader on Thursday.

Mr Abbott's office turned down the offer, but Mr Rudd upped the ante and offered to return to Melbourne any day next week.

Sounds like rudd is becoming desperate.
Abbott is all but calling the tune.

Well ... THAT'S a novel, but optimistic interpretation

( ... as long as the electorate - in GENERAL - read it that way)

It's amazing to think how anyone could even think of voting for someone who won't even debate his own policies. It's even worse when you herald it as a good strategy. You've got to be a brain dead moron to want as your PM someone who can't even debate ideas with his opposition.

Are you both worried slogans don't cut it in a debate?

In a competition you do not play according to the other persons rules.
First rudd wanted a debate when it would have made abbott travel. Abbott wisely said "No, call an election first."
Now rudd is saying "a debate and i can wait a few days for you."
Abbott's saying, "When you call an election."

Abbotts winning already.

Not half a clue between them.

Kat

Sure I do the only ones dumber than Rudd on economics are morons like yourself who worship him.

You need to learn to comprehend what you read too, smack-head.

I'm not a Rudd supporter, but I'd vote for ANYONE ahead of this putrid pile of faeces that you support.

And again, for you and your ilk.. if all you've got is 'stupid', 'moron', 'dole-bludger' then get a new act, of smack off.

Preferably to another country, cos we sure don't want you neo-fascist assholes in this one.

BINGO!

The righties here must be either brain-dead morons, or professional trolls.

They'd have to one or the other (or possibly both) to come close to believing some
of the garbage they post.

If ever a party thoroughly deserved to lose an election, it's these carnts. They've
certainly done nothing to deserve victory. Not one thing.

They'd be useful for one of only two things: Blood & bone for the roses.

Or berley.

so do I. I think the economy is heading for a rough patch regardless of who wins the election. But that doesn't mean I just pull numbers out of my arse.

I don't think boat people are an issue either. But the polls show differently. It would be political suicide to ignore that fact. Labor was facing a wipe out because of the boat people, they had to do something.

FX trading over the last quarter
Chinese economic growth statistics
Global employment factors
Australia consumer spending forecast

You get all worked up and start defending the Australian economy and saying how awesome it is??

Did I ? Ok, show me where I said that ...... we all know you wouldn't be making up things like that now, don't we Andrei?

It's also important to point out that whilst I think we are heading for a rough patch, I don't think it will be all bad. Things will slow down, sure, but it all depends on the outcome of the next election. If Labor wins we should still keep ticking over, slower growth and higher cost of living pressures but we'll keep moving in the right direction. If Abbott wins on the other hand, recession here we come.

Higher cost of living pressures in a country where you already pay 40% more than I do in the UK or US for the same things?

That sounds promising.

Qantas - Business Class Return Melbourne - London

Full Price - A$12,022

Qantas UK
Business Class Return London - Melbourne (Exact Same dates/Same seat)

Full Price - 5,109 GBP

Taking an exchange rate of 0.59.

Aussies pay 12,022
British pay 8,659

Care to tell me why Aussies pay $3,363 more for the same seat then Aussie?

39% more than British people do?

RIP OFF AUSTRALIA
