You aren't ripped off?

This is the case across the board on flights, cars, clothes, electronic equipment etc etc

You live in a much more expensive country.

Qantas - Business Class Return Melbourne - London

Full Price - A$12,022

Qantas UK
Business Class Return London - Melbourne (Exact Same dates/Same seat)

Full Price - 5,109 GBP

Taking an exchange rate of 0.59.

Aussies pay 12,022
British pay 8,659

Care to tell me why Aussies pay $3,363 more for the same seat then Aussie?

39% more than British people do?

RIP OFF AUSTRALIA

Or.....rip off Qantas?

Who sets the price?  Are Aussie retailers ripping us off, or are their suppliers ripping them off?

Yeah, might as well.  Who cares about Aussie jobs in the vehicle manufacturing industry?  As a matter of interest, where is that Volvo you mentioned manufactured?

The Australian market sets the price.
A lot of the companies are exactly the same - HMV sell at those prices.

I walked into HMV off Piccadilly and picked up Fight Night 5 for 10 pounds.
HMV in Melbourne had it for $49.

I'm giving you the facts, in Australia you pay on average a good 30-40% and more on a lot of items than I do in the UK and thats even worse when compared with the United States.

It shouldn't be a surprise - London is 16th most expensive city in the world.
Sydney is 10th!
