ALP slides again
Jul 29th, 2013 at 4:51pm

Fresh from enjoying a boost in the Galaxy poll, the ALP drops down again in the Essential poll.

Quote:
2 Party Preferred

23/7/2013 ALP 49%, Lib-NP 51%
29/7/2013 ALP 49%, Lib-NP 51%

The ALP, the progressive party, the party of ideas, the workers' friend, is the only Australian political party to roast four young Australians in roof cavities. SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

Actually they didnt drop at all, but thanks for the misleading quote.

From last week to this week the ALP was stagnant on 39%, the Coalition dropped one point to 44% and the greens increased two points while independants dropped one.

In the two party preferred stakes the result is the SAME as last week.  It didnt slide at all.  It didnt increase at all.  In the 2pp it did nothing.

If you take the time to READ what I said I compared the Essential result with that of Galaxy.

Why are you comparing an increase in one poll to a decrease in another.

Its a flawed comparison.  You should compare poll company with its own polls as they are the true reflection on whether they have indicated a slide.

All it does when you compare results from one to another is have people question which one is a truer reflection on voters habits.

Galaxy up and essiential showing the same doesnt say anything.

and you wrote "the ALP drops down again in the Essential poll".  Well, you tell me how to READ that, because its easy to say in reply, it didnt.

Salad is just showing how fearful the conga line are now. A month ago they had it in the bag, now it looks like another draw, at best, which probably means another three years of Labor given the GREENS and independents would support Labor again over an Abbott led coalition.
The coalitions best chance would be to dump Abbott, if they don't they deserve to stay in the wilderness, a lesson they need to learn.

Greens? Bandt is gone, Labor will win with Liberal preferences.

Independents? Which ones? Lyne and New England will both go to the Nationals.

I wouldn't complain too much.  If it were Greens_lose posting the heading would say, 'LNP trounced, Greens preparing for government'

what independents, fool?  Oakeshott and Windsor are not standing and will revert to Coalition hands (unless you think labor will miraculously jump from 8% to a winning position).  Bandt will most likely lose and be replaced by labor.  That leaves just Wilkie to consider.
