Speak of the devil. A classic example of the type of pest I was referring to.

GET A REAL JOB Kat / Black Orchid etc etc etc ! DECADES OF ONLINE MULTI TROLLING DOESN'T COUNT!

Next!

GFYS!

Who the smack is Black Orchid?

And how could I have been 'multi-trolling' online for 'decades' when I've only had the 'net since 2008?

FD can verify that I use no 'socks' here, nor have I.

And, as I said, I have a job. Miss that bit, did you?

Now, who's the troll?

Garbage. You just think they should.

The country should be distancing itself as far as possible from the lunatic Far Right.

The election will tell the story. If the majority of the populace were leftards then the Greens would have been in power ages ago.

That's OK, I don't vote for the Far Left either.

But, enjoy your delusion if it helps you feel better.

It's no delusion. Both Rudd and Abbott have proposed a work for the dole scheme, and one of them will win.

We already have a work for the dole' scheme, thanks to the maggot, Howard.

Its purpose is purely punitive, there is no training whatsoever, and
there are no positive outcomes at the end.

In short, it simply doesn't work.

Nothing proposed by either party addresses the real issues, just promises to
make life even harder for the unemployed.

And I don't support either party's 'policy' on the unemployed.

It worked for every one I knew who done it. It's to help long term unemployed get a bit of self-esteem and bit of extra cash. It's only "punitive" if you've got a persecution complex or live the delusion that no one ought to tell you what to do.

All I can say to that is "Bull-shyt".

It helps no-one.

It was designed to be punitive, and it is used as punishment.

Get facts, or get stuffed.

Gee - you Military boys are soo Superior.
You even have entire societies and nations serve your every need like Royalty.

I wonder? Maybe Women invented War to teach men what its like to be Raped?

Kinda stupid world we live in if Military personel are 'fitter' than Sportspeople.

Personally, though - I've found most dudes from the Military as socially inept, mentally unable to think for themselves ...sort of like 'over-achievers' who keep making 'simple' things more complicated than what they need to be.

Oh, and I love how the Military kills people: from a safe distance with a push of a button.

What was once a Sword is now a Scalpel,
so an ex-Medic like me isn't too shy to get a bit 'old fashioned' and raise a bastardd sword and show you how to fight 'face to face'.

This race to see who can be the 'hardest' on the unemployed is a smacking disgrace.

And notice that Rudd also is trying to wriggle out of granting the increase the
unemployed so desperately need.

This country should hang its head in shame for the treatment of its unemployed.

And those calling for harsher measures, IMO, deserve to lose their jobs, so they
can then suffer the pain and the ridicule that they so gleefully wish on others.

being an ex military man I can't see the harm in a bit of boot camp... it would really do them good...

also Abbott has a really good idea in getting the young into work via environmental work... 15,000 of them..

there's over 250,000 young adults under 24 unemployed and there would be nothing better than to get them outside working and feeling good about themselves by being a part of the working community and learning new skills...

there is nothing worse than sitting on your ass at home feeling worthless...

There is.

Being abused, denigrated, discriminated-against and punished for it as if it
were your fault, or because you're stupidly deemed to be there by choice.

And all while being deliberately kept in abject poverty.

When, in 95% of cases, it's nothing of the kind.

" 250,000 young adults under 24 unemployed"

That's one hell of a lot of boot camps..... lessee now -- current tail to tooth is about 11:1 - that'd give us 4-5 fighting divisions... hmmm...all fed and armed... (though I'm not much of a fan of 5.56 rounds)....

Arrrmmm - and if they were 'boot camped' the cost would be astronomical - 24/7 oversight @ $XX per hour?  Food?  Shelter?  Power?  Training and equipment?

Hmm - the Army sounds better, but the cheapest option that causes less trouble (consider all the compo claims), is to raise the dole... sort of a bit like raising the Titanic .....

Better still - invest in some REAL industry.

STOP PRESS:-  What about mah main man Swanie's '500,000 jobs in the mining sector'?  Plenty of space there for a mere 250,000..... with 250,000 to spare!  Might be hope for the pensioned off who don't want to retire yet!

You could always write a novel. Cheesy

You could do some woodwork. Make a table or chair and sell them on eBay.

Develop software.

Fiddle with electronics. Make some gadgets and sell them on eBay.

Write a book about what you know by reading other books on a topic and pretending you're an expert.

Paint a scene.

Who knows, you might be able to make some money from this stuff. If not, at least you're helping yourself. Cheesy

Exactly. Put them in factories. Make it mandatory to learn some trade or send them back to school. Because they didn't volunteer and didn't put in the job applications, we will pay them less.

I was thinking of the long-booted whip-corded overseer with the big hat, the dark glasses, the shotgun and the whip for myself......maybe on horseback.... man - dat da life!

I don't hear no singing!!

In my case not only back (twice), but as long as hearing, good shoulders, knees, ankles, hips and neck.. total of 14 disabilities... are not a requirement, I'll be fine... but I'm brave....

POST SCRIBBLUM:-  Ex-Medic you say?  Hmm - so was I... with a loaded rifle.... Wink

Its amazing how these things go around in circles.  We already had Howard re-introduce the baby payment scheme that Labor had initially brought in a century earlier.

Will we see the re-introduction of conscription, and the White Australia policy?

So as usual we have no choice @ all really. The GST was the same - the other guy had the same policy but called it something else. "democracy" - ha!

Too late, Lisa!  I've done army, eighteen hour days weeks on end in the boonies without showers etc, over the hills and very far away, security for some very illustrious people in the world, some stuff you never will hear of apart from maybe some Hollywood tilt at it, and I'm now on pension... I'd like a pay rise commensurate with that of our 'political masters'... who get more tax-free sustenance money per day in Cambella than the dole recipient gets for a week...

I do not think boot camps or the army will do it for all those young people.

a)  Many are not fit enough, physically or mentally

b) Instructors will go mad trying to train the unwilling

c)  We will be seen as warmongers by the warmongers in the Asian Pacific Basin

d) What? 50% girls - make me laugh.

e)  The cost of military training for that number is enormous, and the facilities are simply not there..

I like the idea in some ways, but it is not practical.  The idea has been done to death.

What age do you want them?  Too young to drink but old enough to screw?  How much population increase will we see from co-ed barracks etc?  Shocked

If you're on a pension TODAY esp after working in such far out positions .. how is it that you're not a self funded retiree?

Did you never think about working so as to SAVE for your future at all? Did that totally escape your attention. Hmm?

Pensioners today are from the generations before super. Since we pay into the pension all our working lives through a tax then whats your problem?
