Schapelle Corby will be released when her sentence for drug offenses is concluded.  I hope by the time she is released that Corby has used her time productively to become a better, more decent, caring and moral person...

She's gone mad, tormented beyond tolerable.
Chases imaginary ducks around the cell block ceiling etc.
Still they persecute her.

She's entitled to parole...our govt should make sure she gets it.

How would you feel if the Indonesian Government demanded an Indonesian man in a Sydney jail was released early?

The AU Government does not decide laws or releases outside of Australia.

If she is still alive, then why haven't we heard anything about her from our supposedly loyal media and supposedly loyal politicians?

More importantly, does anyone care whether she gets released early or not??? She was stupid enough to do the crime, so she must do the time.

Armchair_Politician

I await the day a drug trafficker admits to what they do when they are caught.

No idea of what is in her mind but based on the objective facts, she is guilty and we can learn from Indonesia on how to treat drug traffickers. I care as much about the plight of a drug trafficker as much as I care about about the NSW ALP.

The whole family looks like nut jobs, they got what they deserved the way they carried on with the Indonesian justice system.

It seems many people assume that you are subject to the same legal system as here or even more tolerant than here which is very hard to find.

I dont think it was her drugs.
Her half-brother though is as guilty as sin.

He has record up and down the QLD coast as long as your arm for drugs and violent offences and turns around on his heels and scarpers same day.

He has since been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and possession of Category A narcotics....

I think she genuinely didn't pack them.

I actually agree . I think it was her brothers drugs as well. However I don't think she was as innocent as she pretends to be. She knew they were there. How could she not. It's a bit hard to miss a bulge out of the side of your body board bag when you take it off the conveyor belt isn't it? Body boards are rather flat. As is normal with these people they assume that everyone else is an idiot and they are genius' . Did they really think no one would notice?

she broke other peoples laws....

we have no right to judge other people when we do the complete opposite..

jail for drug running is a joke in this country and every one knows it.

at the moment Sydney is like a mini Chicago in the 30s and its all about drugs.. they thumb their noses at our laws....

so some other country is tough on drugs well done I say..

it isnt as if they DONT WARN ANYONE IS IT?...

she will come home write a book and make a fortune its tough I agree but its their laws and justice who knows it didnt stop the Bali 9 but it may have stopped a lot of others.. we will never know will we..

I feel more sorry for all those families dealing with losing someone to drug ov er doses to be honest....

take a look at the ex swimmer..Scott Miller if you want to see a shining example of what drugs can do.

The whole family are into it including her father, her sister Mercedes and two of her brothers/ half brothers. I'd be surprised if she didn't know about it.  Why would anybody be so stupid? People do all kinds of stupid things.  The drug surveillance in Indonesia used to be very hit and miss. I've been through there a few times and at the time Corby was arrested they didn't have any sophisticated equipment for drugs at Bali Airport.

Maybe someone broke other people's laws for her.

We have every right to judge Indonesia...it happily takes our money and in return treats us with utter contempt.

She can write a book, but all the proceeds will be seized as "proceeds of crime".

Drug users knock on the illegal drug dealers' doors, buy the illegal drugs, consume the illegal drugs willingly...not like they haven't been warned...and some die or get maimed for life., all their own fault 'personal responsibility'.

The drug trade is a sad affair all around.

People execution-shredded/hanged for smuggling...and users dying by their own 'hand'.

Interesting that new style heroin in Indonesia, flys in thru windows and lands on tables in piles.
Indonesian cops were watching the Bali9 fom the time their plane landed...but didn't see even one delivery of all that heroin to their rooms.  Smiley

True.

In barbaric Singapore she would've been hanged, her head yanked off her shoulders at the end of the long drop...as happened to Aussie Nguyen.

We of course should be returning serve to these barbaric Asian nations, and doing to their criminals here what they're doing to ours.
But we are civilised.
...and fighting with one hand tied behind our back, as usual.

We should be having public executions in Martin Place at lunchtime Fridays of Asian nationals drug smugglers, credit card fraudsters, conmen/conwomen, people-smuggling boat crews etc.
As warnings.
Our sovereign laws.
But we are civilised.

Watch Asian nations squeal like stuck pigs then!
Indonesia goes off its brain when Saudi Arabia chops off the heads of Indonesian citizens...and other nations sentence Indonesians to death.

Asian nations as a general rule couldn't give a flying bugger about either animals or the general population.

Be they Asian or Western.
