Has Matty stopped listening to Karnal's advice. Can't imagine Karnal would risk the youth vote by allowing Matty to expose his inability to escape old prejudices.

Perhaps Matty thinks he can become the darling of the blue rinse set. Makes you wonder if Karnal's position as primary adviser is tenable with such a strategic rift.
