Cods, firstly I'd appreciate it if you stayed away from your racist "dump the misery on us." No one is dumping any misery on us. Asylum Seekers are allowed to seek asylum, and it isn't DUMPING MISERY ON US for PEOPLE (HUMAN BEINGs, CODS, HUMAN BEINGS) to be granted refugee status.

Secondly, you'll remember that the COALITION ALSO HAD A PLAN FOR DEBT AND DEFICIT during the GFC.  So they OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T THINK NO ONE WAS IN TROUBLE, CHINA WILL SAVE US.  THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO THE EXACT SAME THINGS BAR 20$ odd billion. WOW, the DEBT AND DEFICIT WOULD BE 20$B less. AND YET IT WOULD STILL BE A DEBT AND A DEFICIT.

So get your points straight, and lose the racism and dehumanizing commentary.

SHUT UP HYPOCRITE after what you have sat back and watched go on  for the past 6 years you have not a word to say...

you are the b iggest bunch of HYPOCRITES that ever was.. not a word about these people for 6 years now all of a sudden they are dying at sea..so its time to dump them on one of the poorest nations in the region.. Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

AND WHAT HAVE YOU SAID.??????..

THATS RIGHT BUGGER ALL..

dont tell me what I can and cant say after what we have seen you do and say..for the past 6 years.... Angry Angry

and stop talking bloody HYPOTHETICALS>>>

they dont count they dont matter...

I just hope and pray that should the Libs have been in when the GFC struck we would have a damn sight more to show for the DEBT we are in.

you see it isnt the debt thats the biggest problem...

its what have or in this case havent got to show for it..

at least if you buy a house worth $500.000.. even if you have to sell it its worhth $500.000..

I benefited from most if not all of their unaffordable giveaways.  It was the poor, unemployed, low paid workers, pensioners and unmarried mothers who missed out in the empty beers.

The economic modelling at the time was saying that the Liberals plan was insufficient to keep us out of recession ???

Very little of the debt is due to that spending and that which was got good value, kept employment high, kept the economy out of recession and provided much needed infrastructure., it was win win win.

Why is it always the job of the libs to fix the messes that the ALP leave lying around ?

What you are missing is that assuming Abbott wins he will be given at least a 1 term free pass which is roughly when the fantasy land ALP surplus is predicted so I really don't see the point of this thread.

Its in the ALP's DNA to spend ...... actually overspend and its not in their DNA to even be close to budgetary honesty or credibility.

Its the ALP that is the problem, how did such a moron like swan get the job of treasurer ?

What we don't need is another term of reckless spend and politicised budgets, before you jump on this broad big overspending programmes you need to first balance the books ........ then look at these big ideas ..... even if they had credibility which is very debateable.

its in their DNA to waste and spend money we havent got.. aka PNG...

where have they spent our money??..

I am buggered if I can see where its all gone.. mining increased triple at least whilst they have been in power...so wheres it gone.. they didnt have any debt to pay off..

where it gone.. dont tell me computers cost that much?.

probably on kev the cons travel.

You'd notice it if we had joined the Western recession so just be thankful that Kevin Sept 07 SAVED our arses from the global economic meltdown coz its gonna be an ugly decade after Tony finally drags us into that recession.
You have been warned  Cheesy

I hate to tell you this.. but we were never in danger of the GFC   have you forgotten CHIONA already silly boy..

he spent like a fool and started the rot.. then he opened the flood gates to In donesia so they could dump the misery on us...and since then its been one long downhill to DEBT...

stop blaming everything and everyone else...

boy I am warning you you are going to cop one blame game after another if Tone gets in...

you have not a leg to stand on I have never heard of any govt making so many stuff ups and blaming everyone else for them as this one.. and you guys are the same...

I agree we are in for a torrid time... and we have nothing to back us up.. industry has almost gone mining is and has been slowing for ages...and now on top of that a MASSIVE B LOWOUT ON THE BUDGET AND A HUGE DEBT.. Angry Angry

you are dead right... but dont blame the LIBS...we had nothing to do with it for 6 years..REMEMBER that if you can. Grin Grin

I would suggest this is all part of the same process, which is rather loosely referred to as the GFC and yes, we are most certainly caught up in that process!

cods, I fail to see how I am being hypocritical. Perhaps you can elaborate a bit further.

As for what we have to sell? We have to sell that during the GFC when all of Europe, North America went into recession we continued to grow. And I think that's a immense effort, both thanks to the government and the private sector.  And the funny thing is, had the coalition been in power, they would've spent the same money. It isn't a hypothetical - they are on the record of saying they agreed with the debt and deficit at the time. It's all just become political games now, which is why tony likes to yell DEBT AND DEFICIT. But my point remains: for the man who yells so much about it, why has he not been able to explain how he'll rid us of it?  Stay on topic cods, how will your man lead us to surplus?

Tony isnt.  So. How will he fix it?

Stop beating around the bush. If you can't answer, don't post.

You won't vote for the LIBs so why would you be interested in what he does

I will vote for Rudd so I am entitle to ask the difficult questions

It's the game that they play, Maqqa. We know that inrrespective of anything, they would never ever vote for the Coalition, so it would all fall on deaf ears anyway.

But then why not explain how he is going to stop the DEBT AND DEFICIT?

Your argument is very circular and frankly very childish.  Surely if tony had a plan to END THE WASTE you and others would be going crazy explaining it.
