What a stupid argument.  Let's say that's true. Tony is not a leftard. So, he thinks it's bad. Then explain how he plans to END THE WASTE

He won't.

He wants to win an election at any cost and he doesn't give a rats about a surplus.

His committed spending promises guarantee that he would need more than a decade to deliver a surplus unless he breaks all his commitments.

Or you can listen to Woof with his degree from the Jethro Bodine school of ciphering and claim that he can save $80 Billion by cutting back on parliament house tooth picks or some other ridiculous over estimation..

C'mon, maqqa....

Pander to us.

See if you can explain something, ANYTHING, in a clear, concise and correct (no maqqanomics) manner.

$33 billion write down in 3 months.

Govenment has proposed:
1. FBT changes.  On review I think these are reasonable.  FBT is an entitlement for work benefits and personal use needs to have tax on it.  So, how do teachers, police, etc, those who tony wants to "end the hit" on use these lease vehicles for work?  You can't claim to and from work.  What Tavel for work is involve with these vehicles?  And if none then id rather government pay our police, teachers, etc, more than suggest they continue to make use of a tax loop hole.
Anyway... TONY OPPOSES FBT.

2. Bank levy.  TONY OPPOSES (at least by the sounds of his treasury idiot).

3. Sin tax.  Tony is even here electioneering!  I don't think I've seen a politican electioneer against rises to sin taxes.

Then there's:
1. Gonski he will keep.
2. His own proposed STOP THE BOATS measures
3. Private health rebate he will remove mean testing
4. Carbon tax he will cut but keep the revenue, and in place offer billions to deweed the country.
5. Mining tax he will scrap
6. Tax on $100,000+ super contributions he opposes
7. Proven underfunded paid parental leave.

So far, mr DEBT AND DEFICIT is opposed to all spending cuts proposed.

And what's he offered? $12 billion growth to GDP (not tax collection) by cutting red tape.

If we have a slowing economy and a structural problem to the budget then I'd prefer the party that offers some suggestion than the party that cries about the debt but offers no alternative and opposes all spending cuts.

How will tony return the budget to surplus?

well if you are so friggin' smart why not tell Abbott AND Rudd how to do it.  Or are you so smug and stupid at the same time to not notice that the budget is in freefall under Labor??  It is in fact so bad and getting worse so fast that it is difficult to imagine Abbott doing worse.  Rudd has NO IDEA what he is doing and never did.  Swan was a well-meaning but useless buffoon.

But you dnnt have any ideas, do you - just allegiances.

Stop borrowing money from China etc and spending it like there's no tomorrow...like Rudd/Gillard Labor have done.
...to start with!

ALL the debt and deficits aree Rudd's, Gillard's and their cronies' fault.

Howard and Costello left them a credit bank balance and a budget surplus.

I just hope and pray that should the Libs have been in when the GFC struck we would have a damn sight more to show for the DEBT we are in.

you see it isnt the debt thats the biggest problem...

its what have or in this case havent got to show for it..

The economic modelling at the time was saying that the Liberals plan was insufficient to keep us out of recession ???

Very little of the debt is due to that spending and that which was got good value, kept employment high, kept the economy out of recession and provided much needed infrastructure., it was win win win.

was that modelling done by Treasury?  (HINT: it was)  Now tell me again with a straight face what the changes are of that modelling being any closer than a mile off.

do you think the libs are telling the truth?.

they haven't really said anything yet.. and it I were them I wouldn't until Rudderless called the election...
just sit back and let him hang himself...

they've said they'll bring us back to surplus sooner, they've said they are better economic managers, they've said they want to help the battlers ...

they've said plenty ... you just like to plug your ears and pretend all is rosy.

well lets look at this then...

the TRACK RECORD shows that a Liberal Government can deliver a surplus...

RUDD/GILLARDS TRACK RECORD shows that they ar incapable of delivering a budget surplus ever... ever ever...

that means NEVER...

the greens and other fringe dwellers are in lala land... no one in their right mind would vote for them...

being a realist... looking at the current disaster.. there's only one LOGICAL decision to make in regards to your next vote..

and that is to vote LIBERAL...

a lot of people voted against John Howard just because they thought he'd been there long enough...

say what?  Shocked

its those types of Political imbeciles that have gotten us into 300 Billion Dollars in DEBT and are unaware what they have done.....  they are even prepared to vote Labor again... like that nincompoop Greenie...  Angry

Fairly sure in a previous post you told me it was really easy with the current spending of the Labor Government, and that Abbott needs to only cut spending by 50% and raise revenue by 70%. I asked you how he intended to do it. You offered no reply.  Why?

You don't seem to get the irony either of having over $100 Billion of unfunded new spending and claiming to get to a surplus at the same time. Seems that he is going in two diametrically opposed directions at the same time.

He is claiming that he can increase debt and reduce debt at the same time. It would take quite a fool to swallow it.
