Why doesn't Tony Abbott wear a tutu?

A recent thread: http://www.ozpolitic.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1375415250/0#0 had me wondering why male politicians aren't as subject to invective about their appearance and dress sense as female ones. Hence the title of this thread.

The subject's sexuality was also an issue, which brought to mind a conversation from many months ago. The view was put that Tony Abbot's true nature is gay. He causes himself problems, the logic went, by failing to come to terms with his sexual orientation.

Though the speaker is qualified in psychology, I didn't give her opinion much thought until now. There are indications:
- Abbott's tendency to pose in gaily coloured lycra and budgie-smugglers;
- his oft-remarked peculiarities regarding women;
- compensatory, pseudo-masculine, aggression;
among others.
