I do not believe that the value system of Islam and the value system of Western liberal democratic culture are compatible.
There is no such thing as a
liberal democratic culture - every culture has taboos and boundaries.
Ask Snowden or Assange how liberal the West is.
As for democracy, did you know that the first Islamic Caliphs were elected in a similar fashion to how the Australian prime minister is? The Islamic state had a council drawn up of representatives of prominent members of the public. And there was a even a representative for women.
The twelve-member jury system was developed in the Islamic world about 1200 years ago. The idea of trusts also was developed in Islam before Crusaders brought the idea back to England.
The methodology of legal precedent and reasoning by analogy were also used to derive Islamic law long before it was adopted in the West.
There are a lot of fascists in this country whose ideas are not exactly compatible with democracy.

one of the weaknesses of democracy is that people like you get a vote...
I dare say that there are lefties out there with similar ideas to the fascists in regard to democracy.
