kat you look like a jack of all trades and what you do you do well and deserve praise indeed.. its a pity about the chip you have on your shoulder... Sad

Thank you, Cods. My trade is in printing, but I learned the 'old' ways which are not in demand much now, so I've had to re-skill somewhat over the years. Being willing to try new things and do the required training always helped.

It works out well when work is scarce as my choices aren't as restricted as some. The fact that I'm prepared to take on small, one-off jobs that many others won't, also helps.

The chip on my shoulder comes from people using my support of the unemployed to paint me personally as an un-educated wastrel, drug & alcohol-addicted no-hoper and terminal bludger, when it is plain to those who know me that I am anything but.

I am full of praise for someone like you you turn your hand to anything..I have seen the bikes you fix...and I love old school.. its much better than what they teach them today I feel..

I think you take far too much notice of those on here you wouldnt spend time with face to face.. why worry about them..they wont change.. so ignore them...you spoil yourself by  behaving the same way I feel.. sometimes you come across as so angry and bitter.. its hard to believe..and then you post up pictures like these.. something you have every right to be proud of...no of course you are not a bludger...and only an idiot a spiteful one, would think that.

I wish you lived near me...those tiles look beautiful..

We (or most of us) expect politicians to do and say anything to get elected.

Some, a few rare exceptions are principled and place the country before them.

And the sad thing is Krudd could have been one of those, unbeholden to the unions and with his wifes personal fortune means meant he wasn't in it for the money.

Unfortunately he has turned out to be more grasping and venal than the worst of them.

I think after the election we will see some whistleblowers about the PNG "solution" and it will be revealed that it was a patch up job to limp them over the line and they all knew the wheels would come off.

This is a thread about Rudd's sociopath / psychotic nature.

NO, it ISN'T
The thread is about an article written by a Murdoch staffer - published in a Murdoch tabloid - with AWB/Saddam Hussein Oil-for-Wheat scandal's biggest player as its major source

Though I believe there may be some element of truth in the Rudd
"green tie affair"

THIS was interesting - though not surprising

Q. How much trust do you have in the way the following media have reported and commented on the election campaign so far?

see table ...

The most trusted media for coverage of the election campaign were ABC TV (58% trust), SBS TV (52%) and ABC radio (49%).

The most trusted newspapers were The Age (42%) and the Sydney Morning Herald (39%).

The least trusted media were the Courier Mail (23%), The Telegraph (25%) and commercial radio (25%).

in summary ...

Rupert's Telegraph
- as the most read newspaper in the land - is also near
the least trusted
for truth

Or this shed extension....

Better give up on the 'bludger' epithets while you're (not) ahead, I reckon.

kat... why do  you have your gender set to "female' ?

also... shouldn't that shed roof have 2x4 nogins  between the joists for strength?

1/ Due to a bug in the forum at one time, it kept changing no matter how many times I set it, so I eventually gave up.

2/ They weren't needed, it's essentially a garden shed (around 2.5x2.5) and has almost no load on the skillion roof. The
job involved dumping the original gable roof, raising the roofline by 800mm, and re-sheeting. The employer decided that
this would do, and he was the one signing the cheques. I was there doing another job for him recently, and it's survived
some gale-force winds since its completion.
