56-44 in favour of Rudd, according to Channell 7. Women perhaps at 60. Abbott has a massive trust problem on his hands.

The majority of Australians are comfortable with their sexuality. Abbott might have your vote in his pocket, nerfiti, but most Australians can't stand his ignorance or hus paternalism.

Tony has a sister who is lesbian.  I have a nephew who is gay. I know several people who are gay/lesbian. I do not discriminate. So don't tell me about it.

The Australian People want a Referendum into Homosexual Marriage ... it is NOT up to the Government to make that choice for the rest of us.

Bring on a referendum. Watch the worm when they start talking about gay marriages.

Ok so Rudd is a worm favourer?  Is this a cryptic clue as to why he has back-flipped on homo-sexual marriage? Smiley

Or is it that those that favour Rudd are worms? Sad

Or both?  Huh

the polls however would suggest otherwise.

A plebiscite* is a good idea, but I doubt that one is really needed. On this issue, most parties would allow a free vote, so the views of the parliament would be broadly similar to the population at large (representative democracy at its finest). It's only the Coalition that's holding it back, and it's only the Rabbit that is getting in the way of the Liberals having a free vote too.

* It's technically a plebiscite and not a referendum because the Constitution would not be amended.

No, the polls say pretty much that.

God knows what the focus groups say, but it wouldn’t be nice.

What is the history of plebiscites in Australia? I know we had one over conscription during World War, but the only one I can remember is the one over our national anthem.
