Its a pointless topic as its the ALP that have the economic reality and perception problem.

Also it was the ALP that was tardy about such in the past.

For me I have no interest as assuming the coalition wins, they need to establish the true state of the books before you can set down an economic programme. What is clear is the ALP numbers can not be trusted.

what a dishonest con job.

$17 is not not $20.

And $17 is far fetched in itself.

It's a soap opera

We kids are stuck between two bitter, divorced parents

Both are promising to take us to Disneyland 'next year'

Increasingly, they're both upping the ante, trying to win our affection

Even though we're just dumb kids, we see through it

Both our parents are broke

Mum spent all the money and maxed out the bank cards

and we know Dad will have to repay Mum's debts

before he can start to put a bit of savings in the bank

So we listen to them lying and promising

We've seen what Mum's made of

So this time, we're going with Dad because at the end of the day, we know we're safer with him

Stop whining about Murdoch

You all know he's just a front man

The same shadows who own Murdoch own all the politicians

In any event, invariably, politicians claim to be 'the underdog'

Murdoch covered his masters' true preference by pretending to favour Abbott

a child can see it

The truth is, by claiming to oppose Rudd, Murdoch and his backers were in fact trying to steer public sympathy to Rudd

and those PAID to trumpet Labor KNOW that

as do the rest of us

Very clearly, Murdoch and his backers are in Labor's corner

Yeah, we should all just use crikey.com.au as our sole source of information, eh?

It just isn't good enough!

Both the Liberals & Labor play similar games, every time an election is called, by leaving their costings until the last moment possible, THUS NOT GIVING SUFFICIENT TIME FOR ANY PROPER EVALUATIONS, LET ALONE PROPER CONSIDERATION BY THE PUBLIC!

And, almost as inevitably, both parties claim the other party "cooked the books" and SUDDENLY THE NEW PARTY TAKING OFFICE HAS NOW FOUND THE FINANCIAL POSITION IS MUCH WORSE THAN WAS THOUGHT!

Finally, they both "PLAY GAMES", by shifting election dates around to suit their own re-election chances!

IT'S TIME ALL THESE GAMES STOPPED & WE GOT -
1) Fixed Term elections, preferably every 4 years, on say the last Saturday in November!
2) Election Costings MUST BE SUBMITTED BY ALL POLITICAL PARTY'S, TO THE RELEVANT PUBLIC SERVICE BODY (PEFO), prior to the end of September for evaluation & PEFO MUST RELEASE THEIR FINDING PRIOR TO THE END OF OCTOBER!

No if's, no butt's, just do it, THERE IS NO LEGITIMATE EXCUSE, WHY ANY PARTY CAN NOT COMPLY!

Well written Perceptions - couldn't agree more.
