This is likely to be the most important election in our children’s and grandchildren's futures. I will vote for the party or candidate with the best policies to protect future generations from dangerous climate change.

Together we call on all of our politicians to commit to climate change policies that see Australia do its fair share to prevent dangerous climate change. Recent analyses indicate that, for our nation to do its fair share, minimum national emissions reduction targets of 25 to 50% by 2020 and 80% by 2050 are required.

The health of people in Australia and around the world is affected by climate change. The international medical journal The Lancet has described climate change as the biggest threat to global public health this century.

But what is Australia's response to the risks to health from climate change?

Surely a wealthy developed country such as Australia should have a national strategy to respond to this serious risk?

There are many benefits to health, as well as climate benefits, from cutting emissions. But there is currently no national strategy to address the impacts on health.

Let's get a National Strategy on Climate and Health in Australia!
