There is only one opposition leader I can think of that stayed on as party leader after losing an election until the next one.

Kim Beazley?

Matty, this would be an excellent time to get into the Labor Party and become leader. Look at Mr Abbott - after 2007, people though the Libs would be gone for good.

All an ambitious young politician would need to do is get elected, join the Labor party, take over the leadership, and wait.

Thoughts?

The funny thing is, though, that he and labor thought that the Australian people would worship at his feet when he came back, and that his personal popularity would get Labor the win. Can Labor get anything right? Cheesy

The thing is, he's almost polling worse than Gillard. If I were a member of the ALP, I'd just about keel over from embarrassment.

Krudd ran out of steam with the adults immediately after he muttered...'I'm Back'

Must say I was actually quite surprised how he was taken seriously by so many, the sugar hit to polls etc, but it took a few weeks at most before people started to feel the familiar pangs of regret...

He's got some skippy's loose in the top paddock has Kev.
