Will Rudd quit?
Aug 30th, 2013 at 8:00am

When Rudd gives his concession speech on the night of September 7, will he stay the full term as either Opposition Leader or just a member of the Opposition, or will he quit politics and force a by-election? The people have a right to know!

My guess is he'll resign as leader (that's a no-brainer), see out his next term, and quit politics after that.

The people will know, in a couple of weeks.

Given his massive ego that might come down to his local electorate to do that for him.

Rudd is the ultimate pariah.  Libs would never give him a job and Labor hates his guts even more.

Its only a few months to the Double Dissolution election ... or will abbott coward out like he did on the promised No Confidence vote.

Rudd would likely lead labor at a DD election.

blah blah blah...  the conservative parties could still end up with a majority in the senate.  and then what will you gay unwashed clowns do?

Just what you always do anyhow.  Vote NO to everything except your pet projects.

Sure, anything can happen between now and election day.

Meanwhile polling shows Abbott will not repeal the carbon pricing because he will be a lame duck ... unless Labor caves and once again reneges on our generations greatest moral issue.

If Abbott doesn't go to a DD, it will reveal himself as a bigger liar than the previous Labor leader.

Playing dumb suits you.

Abbott hasn't got the senate on current polling, making his carbon levy removal a lie unless he goes to a DD.

Abbott is setting himself up to being the biggest liar of them all.

current polling suggests that the conservative parties may hold a majority.  you dont get to simply pretend that isnt true.

There is only one opposition leader I can think of that stayed on as party leader after losing an election until the next one.
