Best Opposition Leader in Australia’s History
Aug 31st, 2013 at 2:21pm

It’s a beautiful day today as I sit here in the Grampians listening to the birds and a gentle breeze through the trees around us....  the sun is out and its nice and warm which is a nice change since we’ve endured a few months of cold weather from the ending winter period... I look to my right and the Mrs head is starting to drop as the warm sun is putting her to sleep and life just feels great!!

So as I chug back on a beer I ponder about the last 6 years of political hell  which will hopefull y end by this time next week Smiley...

But I’ve e been thinking...

Has there ever been a better opposition leader than Tony Abbott?

It seemed that Australians hadn’t learnt their lesson after the first three years of a Rudd/Gillard government since kevin 07 who was starting to put us into massive debt...  all the signs were there but Australians totally stuffed up the election which gave us a hung parliament... the rest is history...

But Tony Abbott had a promise to the Australian people...

He said that he’d campaign every day for us until the next election... he said that he’d keep the bastard honest... he said that he’d hold this government to account every day no matter how hard it got...

Over the past three years Abbott and his team have kept their word...

They have been a strong and stable team who have now unseated two first term Prime Ministers due to the pressure he has put on them...

He has kept his word.. he has been unrelenting and has bamboozled the government to the point of where that’s all they talked about.. abbott abbott abbott...

Poke like a butterfly and sting like a bee... Abbott has given it to Labor and has held them to account every step of the way for the last three years.. never a man truer to his word...

Next Saturday will be his reward...

The KNOCK OUT BLOW...

He will rid what is arguably the worst government in australias history... even worse than the Whitlam Government who got sacked... I would say...

So I was thinking...

If he was this good in opposition.. I can’t wait to see him as Prime Minister of Australia...

He will see it as an honour and he will work as hard as he can for auatralia trying to get us back out of the mess Labor the and the gang Greens have gotten us into...

Well done Tony if you get there...

Never has a campaign been fought so hard by an opposition Team ...

Whilst I will admit to being somewhat of a part time Australian - I openly admitted to getting my Aussie passport for tax reasons - I feel well qualified enough to state that Australians have to choose next weekend between two incredibly ordinary leaders.

Best opposition leader in history?

Actually having lived in 4 countries gives me a more rounded opinion than you who rounds on the US and UK yet you've never even stepped foot in either!!!

I can recognise an ordinary leader when I see one.
Both Rudd and Abbott are ordinary.

Tony has been easily the worst opposition leader we ever had and will almost certainly smoothly transition into the worst PM we are ever likely to have.

Mr Abbott has been a negative mud rucking sewer dweller over the last 4 year. His opposition has lacked honest and integrity seldom acting in Australia's best interests.

I am proud to say I have already voted as I have to work a crappy shift next Saturday and didn't want to spend my break in a queue. GREENS in my HOR and preferenced Justine Elliott above the National party turd and the GREENS above the line for the NSW senate. I usually number all below but there are 110 so just the GREENS once above the line.

Who considers  Abbott the best? Only the dumb ass conga line. At least Whitlam had vision and he changed this nation for ever, for the better. Whitlam was/ is a great visionary and a great man, I wouldn't piss on Abbott if he was on fire.

no use in being a visionary if you can't fulfil that vision...

im not saying that Whitlam didn't have good intensions.. he did..

he just couldn't achieve the result without breaking the country...

most polly's probably have "good" intentions.. but a lot of them seem to struggle with the most basics of budgets...

its any wonder the politicians pensions are so smacking generous as they wouldn't be able to live on what you and I do...

call abbott what you will.. but at the end of the day he's made this Labor/Green conalition look like jackasses....

and like I was saying early on... im in the mountains of the Grampians and now some Kangaroos have come into camp... one has a baby in its pouch... it makes talking politics insignificant at a time like this..

i'll see if I can get a picture for you guys Smiley

he just couldn't achieve the result without breaking the country...

Whitlam produced surplus budgets - he didn't break the country.

call abbott what you will.. but at the end of the day he's made this Labor/Green conalition look like jackasses..

How much of that has been due to Abbott who has turned and run every time he was asked a serious question and how much has been due to the relentless dishonest media campaign against Labor the last 4 years ?

Abbott has been Lucky thay he was in opposition when the media were determined to change governments.
