I believe the American public is sick of giving up it's young men to silly foreign conflicts. America will never go into Syria like Iraq and Afghanistan.

SO poison gassing is silly now........ 1500 gassed....but none of our business Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Fighting over religion is a silly foreign conflict in my opinion. I hate smacking religion.

since when have the yanks gone to war over religion?????

and again since when is gassing children silly?

Probably more than you realise. The yanks might take out the Syrian ability to deploy WMD's but they won't put men on the ground. And the only reason they'll take this stance is because the Jews connected to the American elite are shite scared .

geez, i'd never support aussie troops going to iraq or syria.

they are needed in canberra to supervise the demolition of the public service and prevent civil unrest at ACT centrelink offices

"If the question is 'would I make the same decision to invade again given all the information we had at the time?'
Then the answer is yes absolutely. Not a shadow of a doubt. It was simply the right thing to do.
Look this man was holding the world to ransom, he wasn't complying and he had 13 years to comply. This just didn't happen overnight, we gave Iraq 13 years and they still stopped weapons inspectors visiting some sites.
I have no hesitation in stating I'd make exactly the same decision again."

Well the Security Council of the UN  meets soon, before Election Day and guess who is chairing it? None other than the Mouse that Roared - Australia.

It's our turn on the rotation of temporary members of the UN Security Council.

Now I'm betting my house they will do  nothing about the nerve gas slaughters in Syria, just like they have done nothing in countless others massacres.

yes Syria Egypt and any other middle eastern countries conflict is of no concern to us??

Leave it to the UN to do as it does best, sit on its hands and procrastinate.

Nothing to do with us and its not something we should not make our issue??

Of course we should be concerned and do all we can to broker peace.

But to get involved militarily would be crazy.

so what is the answer pete????????

who knows maybe this bastard has done this just to get the outside world INVOLVED....nothing b rings them out like WMD....

I btw am looking and waiting for the UN to have the answer.... why they do not have immediate action in a case like this ....dumbfounds me...

they sit there like crows on a fence... impotent/paralyzed.

waiting for the US to make the call... pathetic

Just like I said, cods, we do everything to bring about peace. But we do not provide arms to either party and certainly do not invade.

Harsh though it is, the Syrians must resolve their own problems. Western interference would only make things even worse.

I guess Hitler wishes there were more like you in 1939.  The only thing evil needs to succeed is for good men to do nothing.

As usual, longy, total rubbish. This is a civil conflict not a World War.

You learn nothing, do you? What do you want, another Iraq?

so unless it is easy, unless success is guaranteed, you will adopt the left-wing protocol of complaining while sitting around sipping lattes...

Some people value human life more than you do. You probably think Rwanda and Zimbabwe was an excellent result.

why is the left so cowardly?

Agreed, if assad goes unpunished then what stop other countries using their own chemical weapons in times of trouble..like a civil war, i'm disgusted that the West has not act on such a attack, it is well known that the Syrian rebel not only lack a delivery system and equipment to handle a chemical weapon but the Syrian rebel don't hold any territories known to contain chemical factory/armories.

Plus unlike Iraq, the US say they have collected streams of human, signals and geospatial intelligence that reveal regime activities that we assess were associated with preparations for a chemical weapons attack and Multiple streams of intelligence indicate that the regime executed a rocket and artillery attack against the Damascus suburbs in the early hours of August 21.

Quote:
The Cable reported Tuesday that U.S. intelligence had intercepted a panicked phone call between an official at the Syrian Ministry of Defense and a leader of a chemical weapons unit in the hours after the attack. The minister demanded answers for the strike, which used a nerve agent.

The West have became Weak and afraid to act because we made a mistake in one war..

I think the lesson here is its OK to exterminate your own people as long as don't use poison gas, go back to using bullets and bombs Mr assad then we can go back to not being outraged  Wink

Don't get me wrong I believe that the world community should take action when required but the part that leaves me cold is the WMD aspect.

They are welcome to go in there with machetes and chop the same people up into little pieces no problem but whooa try using gas on them and the world goes nuts over it, I sort of don't get it.
