Don't get me wrong I believe that the world community should take action when required but the part that leaves me cold is the WMD aspect.

They are welcome to go in there with machetes and chop the same people up into little pieces no problem but whooa try using gas on them and the world goes nuts over it, I sort of don't get it.

I agree that it is an odd line to draw but Id still rather there was SOME line being drawn than none whatsoever.

They got him a nice bed now so don't worry he is OK.
Pity he doesn't have the balls to face his rape allegation.

I wonder when he's going to spill the beans on their secrets, not any time soon I would say

Yep what a arse he is - imagine the hide - telling people the truth.

They released so many documents so quickly, he admitted they didn't read the majority of what they released.
It was foolish, stupid and criminal.

He deserves everything he is getting and I hope he stays holed up there for years.

Indeed there was also a streams of human, signals and geospatial intelligence that reveal regime activities that we assess were associated with preparations for a chemical weapons attack and Multiple streams of intelligence indicate that the regime executed a rocket and artillery attack against the Damascus suburbs in the early hours of August 21.

Oh no, that was perfectly fine.

As was gassing his own people and starving the shias in the south.

He really was quite a nice ruler - we were in the wrong to remove him....

Peter Freedman wrote on Sep 1st, 2013 at 2:30pm:
Harsh though it is, the Syrians must resolve their own problems. Western interference would only make things even worse.

That is an easy out when the majority of the "opposition" and Assad's military comprise of outsiders. The opposition is not only fighting with genuine Syrians but also comprises of Al-qaeda, Hezbollah, and other terrorist groups. Then there is Assad's mob which comprise of not only Syrian Military but also other forces from Iran, Lebanon etc. Therefore they are not in fact resolving their own "problems".

Do I think the US and France should get involved? Well there are two ways of looking at this, the first is if they do nothing Syria and others will continue to use chemical weapons on innocent civilians, and may then spread the conflict to involve Israel. Secondly, if they do target areas of the Syrian Military etc Iran, Lebanon etc will then have an excuse to involve Israel and attack US assets in neighbouring countries.

What then is the answer?   Something needs to be done and the only way to set an example and stop the chemical weapons, has got to be drastic, as Israel will ultimately take. Hit them first, and hit them f#####g hard.......

Ron Paul reckons it's the Islamist rebels that did it. It would certainly be in THEIR interest to get Assad whacked, now that he is actually getting the upper hand in this baddies versus baddies struggle.
