Just maybe you're attributing any reduction in illegals to the wrong person, don't you think these illegals and the people smugglers know that the  election is more than likely going to see a change?

Don't lie. It is not illegal to claim asylum.

that would mean their would be an increase in the numbers trying to get here before any change.

Even if it was true, its all a bit late.

They needed to get the numbers down to where Howard had them and achieve that about a year ago.

If it's too late than why is Abbott bothering with an asylum seeker policy?

The choice is clear

Rudd - all unauthorised boat arrivals to go to PNG. Problem solved.

Abbott - torture boat arrivals with lengthy periods of detention before 90% of them are eventually allowed into Australia anyway - just broken by heir indefinite detention. Lot's of medical bills and welfare to fix them.

They're all asylum seekers ya reckon......Einstein?

Like Jackass, you give credit where credit has NOT been earned. Any reduction has nothing to do with KRUDD's crap, his backflip has been propagandised by Labor for a while,  yet the boats still come.

not sure where you get your news from Cods, but I'd suggest you find a new source ... the number of asylum seekers coming by boat has dropped dramatically in the last month.

Will you be happy with Abbotts when he simply puts a blackout on the news telling you about boat arrivals?  .... that way you can all pretend they've stopped.

the thing about lefty programs policies call em what you like... they open the flood gate then turn off as if thats the end of it..... they dont think of the consequences. beforehand...

if you check m ost things that have gone horribly wrong during this 6 years,... its all because they are incapable of seeing the BIGGER picture...

didnt they promise to CLOSE DETENTION CENTRES...

instead we are building more and more this time to last for years....and to maintain thousands...

what are we missing HERE????????????????

Hasn't it occurred to anyone that the reason for the drop in boats lately is due to unfavourable weather conditions? There's been quite a few boats turn back lately and 3 or 4 have had to be rescued by Indonesia due to very rough seas. It's approaching the wet season up north, so expect to see fewer boats still. It has NOTHING to do with the policy put in place by Labor, nothing at all.

A visit to Michael Smith News

will put paid to Labor's lies

And wasn't Burke on Christmas Island offering the steroid thugs a bar b que and ten thousand welcome package

to be followed by a game of golf ?

Won't be long before the truth of Labor's insanity reveals itself

once the Libs finally get to see what remains of Australia's bank account

Doubt we'll be seeing or hearing much from Burke after that

or the rest of them

Anything for a headline in the final days of the campaign, eh Phoney Tony? Doesn't matter if it ain't true in the least, or that it's approaching the wet season up north...
